Lucky Chicken

I order the Chicken Souvlaki Sandwich platter at least once per week and it is consistently a great meal! The French Fries and Greek Salad that come with the sandwich make it one of the tastiest dinner bargains around ($8.25) and I'm literally full if I finish everything. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the other dishes available at Lucky Chicken, so I can't honestly recommend the restaurant as a whole, but I swear by their Chicken Souvlaki Sandwich platter!

In short, stick to the chicken. The roasted chicken is pretty good, not dry , well seasoned. But please do not order any sides, particularly the mac'n'cheese, this is the worst macaroni and cheese I have ever had in my entire life. It waswatery, tasteless, and the pasta is way over cooked. I am enjoying a frozen Lean Cuisine Mac'n'cheese right now and I feel I am having caviar compared to what lucky chicken delivered the other day. Delivery was fast and friendly though.

Wow! Sunday night at 9pm looking for something tasty, healthy and fast. Even though estimte said 25-40 minutes they got here in 8 minutes (& I live 10 blocks away). Not only was it fast but it was fresh, hot & tasty chicken. I'm as cynical as any new yorker especially when it comes to expecting to be underwhelmed by delivery but I just had to write a quick review & say Lucky Chicken far exceeded my expectations.

I usually get the chicken finger combo with mac&cheese and mashed potatoes. The mac&cheese can sometimes be bland and under-seasoned, but everything else is really good. Lucky's is probably one of the only places that offers chicken fingers as an entree, which is difficult when I'm in one of my childish moods. But the food is good and the delivery is super fast!

So good -- and great value! We ordered the half chicken and half rack of ribs combo, and it did not disappoint. Good quality meat, well prepared -- moist and not overcooked. Came with a pita, which is a welcome alternative to regular loaf bread or biscuits. The green beans were a little overcooked, but I'll definitely let that pass when considering a BBQ joint. I was amazed that the food arrived on time and was actually hot -- it's 38º outside.

everything else is pretty mediocre but the chicken... ohhh the chicken is the best chicken I've ever eaten in the city.. this ironically named place is what I crave under various circumstances. they're fast to, but I live close by

I don't know how it's possible, but the quarter baked chicken was dry. Fries were soggy and unseasoned, while the macaroni and cheese didn't taste of any cheese. The wings were breaded, and not what I expected, but nonetheless decent.

The chicken and ribs are really, really good. Everything else ranges from "just ok" to "bleh." Once in a while the ribs have a little more fat on them than they should, but it's never out of control. The chicken is really the best thing from this place. I ask for it well-done, and the outside is crisp and blackened but the inside is still juicy. I'm sure they must be marinating them. The sides are okay, but you have to know which ones to order. The fries, corn on the cob, string beans are all okay. Stuff like mac and cheese or mashed potatoes is very hit or miss. Usually it's not that good. However, the main item always more than makes up for it.

The chicken was good. The rest of the meal was terrible or incorrect. The mac and cheese was watery and not a bit cheese-flavored. The strawberry shortcake came without the strawberry part. Caveat emptor if you get anything besides the chicken.

Kind of a sketchy restaurant, but the food is very tasty. Portions are good, prices are okay. Hot sauce is also worth a try. Not the classiest of delivery meals, but i would certainly recommend giving it a try, and i would order from here again.

wings are greasy and the place screwed up my delivery, forgot my soda, charged me for it anyway, and then politely informed me that they werent sending anyone back with one and that they'd be happy to credit me a soda for my next order. awesome.
