I've placed over 100 orders thru seamlessweb and I rarely write a review unless I really feel it's warranted. I had high hopes for LUZ restaurant cause it's not the usual burgers, pizza, indian stuff that litters every block. Roasted chicken with rice and beans is as close to home cooking as you can get and I was homesick. I placed my order at 8:30 consisiting of Half roasted chicken, rice and beans, empanadas, tres leche cake, and a soft drink. 10 minutes after I placed the order a young lady called me to say they were out of tres leche cake. This was no big deal so I requested the chocolate cake that was also $9.00 as a substitution. An entire hour later the same girl calls to say they were out of beans. Very annoyed I asked if they were just making my order and why did they not know an hour before they were out of beans. She admitted they were just making my order. She asked if I wanted a substitution and I told her sauteed greens. I was way past annoyed but waited patiently for my order. 20 minutes later I call the restaurant and get no answer so I try to hold it together and I went to sit on my stoop to wait for my delivery. 45 minutes later the delivery guy who was very nice apologized profusely saying he knows they did a poor job and he would bring it up at the next meeting. I calmly said thank you and signed for my order and went back inside. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. The chicken was the only thing that was edible, the rice was dry and tough, they didn't include the sauteed greens at all, the empanadas were cold and dry and the filling was dry as well and the chocolate cake was cold and the banana ice cream was warm and watery. The caveat to ordering and paying online is that once they have your money your order is not a priority. The food is expensive but the service is not upscale or customer oriented. I paid $42.00 for this bad meal which got me to thinking all the groceries I could have bought with that $42.00. I think I will start cooking at home again. *******UPDATE********* They've since redeemed

Raw chicken and poor costumer service. We have ordered from this place three times thus far. Although some of the things are slightly more expensive than your average take out, the food has been generally good. That is, until we ordered the whole chicken and it arrived partly raw. When we called, the on site manager was unable to comp any part of our meal. She stated that the owner would only allow her to send us a new chicken and pick up the old one "to see what they can do differently not to make this mistake again". We weren't interested in another chicken (late at night and were grossed out by the raw chicken) and instead asked for a credit for our next order (not even a refund! just a credit to get MORE FOOD from their restaurant!). The manager said she wasn't able to authorize a credit, but would speak with the owner and get back to us the next day. She never did. We won't be ordering from them again.

So sad. We loved this place. But on a recent evening, we placed a very simple order. Two items. An hour went by, and I called to check on it. The sweet girl who answered the phone told me that the delivery man had just left, and would be at our door in under 10 minutes. 40 minutes later I called again, and was told that the delivery guy was now... in Flushing. Queens. I was told that because it was snowing out, he was driving slowly. Um. We live 1.4 miles from this restaurant. Why he needed to go to Queens before delivering our food, or why we were lied to the first time we called, is beyond me. Our food eventually showed up 2 and a half hours later, cold, and long after our dinner guest had left hungry. The girl on the phone told me that she would ask her manager if we could get a partial refund. They never followed up. It's just incredibly bad customer service and they have lost a previously loyal customer.

I've ordered from Luz twice, and both times it took over two hours to get the food. The first time they didn't call to let me know, the second time they called and told me it would be here in 30 minutes late and it was then 45 minutes later than that. No discount offered for sending food that had been sitting, no offer to refund, kind of surly attitude. I will definitely not order from them again.

Great food but notoriously slow delivery (routinely over 1.5 hours!) So, if you are hungry, avoid ordering from this restaurant. 5 stars for food, -3 for delivery.

This place has really great food, and overall I would say it's a good restaurant. But I ordered a side of asparagus for $5 and it came with only 6 spears of asparagus (the skinny kind). I am not exaggerating. Very disappointing. So eat here, but don't order asparagus. (Also the ceviche is pretty small... I'm just sayin')

I ordered my lunch and waited one hour, there's is no food. So I tried contacting the restaurant and guess what? No one answered. I filed a compalint with Seamless and they are still trying to get in touch with them. It's now 2 hours and counting and I am munching my crackers, lol. I am not sure if it's the restaurant' fault or what, but this is such a waste of my time.

The roasted chicken was very moist and tasty. But you need to know what you are ordering. The collard greens tasted exactly like chopped brussel sprouts. The coconut rice was a sticky short grain with with unsweetened coconut juice poured over it. I offered it to a couple of people and they all scrunched up their noses at it. Perhaps it is because we are used to the way a Thai or Jamaican restaurant would prepare it, which is VERY different from what you get here. But if you KNOW Peruvian food and know what to expect, then you're probably in the right place. After all , the chicken was a good call. But otherwise, you might do well to call and ask questions first.

Me and my boyfriend are routine costumers at Luz. We love their rotisserie chicken, it is so flavorful and juicy. I agree that this restaurant is quite expensive for everyday food. But I think $6 for half a chicken is not a bad idea at all, I usually order 2 half chicken for $12 and their $5 cilantro mash potato is big to share. I think it's a well spent $20 for delicious finger-licking food for two.

I've only ordered dessert from Luz, but it was very good. I ordered the Mexican Surprise, but got a call that there was no more. They happily offered different options and provided excellent customer service.

Luz was fast with delivery and my food arrived HOT and nicely plated, which is amazing for delivery. My only concern about my order was that the chicken and the rice were too salty...I wonder if this was a fluke...I would definitely try again to find out.

It's been one hour and forty-five minutes since I ordered. I've spoken the restaurant twice, they apparently have a new delivery guy working tonight -- Saturday. And yet they still can't tell me where he is, when the food will get here, or how many other deliveries he has to make before he gets to my place. An hour is forgivable, barely, for a new guy - but almost two? And no help from the restaurant, so far not an offer for a refund...nothing. Thumbs down Luz.

I've been eating at Luz for years. The rotisserie chicken is unbelievable and the Lechon Asado is one of my favorite pork dishes anywhere.

If it weren't so expensive I would order from this place more - the chicken is AMAZING - get extra green sauce.
