Is the bottom line that their food is very good, or is the bottom line that you wait FOREVER for it to come? At 75 minutes wait time (seamless said 35-50) on an average Sunday night I think the bottom line is that the tasty food isn't worth the wait. It's a persistent problem at Maharaja Palace; we consistently wait an hour (or, I guess, more).

First time I ordered from this place is today. I ordered my food at 8:05 and it still hasn't come (it is now 920). The email i received gave me a range of 35-50 minutes it is now 1hr and 15 minutes and still not food. Will never order from Maharaja Palace again!

The food is very good. I enjoyed the chicken tikka masala and the samosa that came with it was very good and not too oily. Maharaja Palace also had very good mango lassi.

First time ordering from Maharaja Palace. Ordered Konju Papas, Aloo Gobi Jeera, naan, & Raita. Delivery time wasn't the best, it took them 55 minutes to deliver, and I only live 4 blocks away. They got the order right, we received everything we paid for. The Konju Papas was very spicy and not as tasty as i was hoping. The Aloo Gobi Jeera was spicy, but not flavorful and very greasy. Also, the rice was oily and the naan was spongy. The one bright spot was the Raita, it was very tasty and fresh. In all, it was a poor dinner, and expensive for Indian take out.

Food is good even though bit greesy. My wife loves it and we order from Maharaja about twice a month. But good things don't come easy.. here are few things I encountered repeatedly... 1. Unless you add 'Tip' to the order, ready to wait more than usual for delivery... 2. In case you are vegetarian (like us)... check your food before you eat... they are pretty generous with "not wanted" chicken pieces in appetizer! 3. even if you mention during order to send raita as part of biryani, it never come and when you call them.. u get "yes saar"

Very very good Indian food but they definitely need better, more durable take out containers. Because by the time the delivery guy brings your food, the sauces are pretty much in the plastic bag rather than in the container.

i ordered palak paneer, got horrible food poisoning, and spent the wee hours of yesterday morning retching. Someone in the kitchen did not wash his hands! I have spent some time in India, and this is exactly like eating from a street vendor: Great now, sorry later. If you are looking for a truly authentic experience, I recommend it. I called and asked for a refund and was told they'd call me back. I'm waiting...

The fairly good news is that the Indian food here is quite passable by Upper East Side standards: rich, full flavors not dulled down to the bland American-style so common to NYC. The lamb was particularly tender and the chicken saag was moist and spicy. The really awful, terrifically HORRIBLE news is that the delivery service is amongst the worst I have ever experienced. The food did not take the "seamless" estimated 30 to 50 minutes to arrive last night, but a full 90 MINUTES FOR DELIVERY. Then to add insult to injurious tardiness, the order was missing BOTH the appetizers and the naan! For a $53 take-out order, this made for a disaster. When I called the restaurant to let them know of their oversight, the gentleman on the other line quite literally yelled at me that I had not ordered what I had clearly ordered, then hung up. I called back and, after some calm negotiation, he admitted that they had not delivered the entire order and promised to send the remaining items right away. Of course, no further appetizers or bread ever came! A truly nasty first (and last) experience with this restaurant. I noticed from a cursory glance at other review sites across the web that my experience is far from unique. I feel like this restaurant owes me money for undelivered yet paid-for food, but I want nothing further to do with them.

Ok! Let's get one thing straight... I LOVE the food here.... BUT for the UMPTEENTH time, they have left things THAT I PAID FOR out of the order... for some reason when raita and pickles are requested, they never appear in the order... I have paid for them NUMEROUS times... yet pickles, I haven't received ONCE, and now my raita for the first time.... I am demanding a refund!
