Manatus

The best thing that I can say about Manatus is that it is always open and it's pretty much always fast. However, I have thrown away more food from here than I have eaten. Hey, sometimes I cave into the need for food fast, and I forget how much I dislike this particular food.

This is a revised review. I had written a bad review a few months ago, as I ave being going to this pace for decades and it seemed to fall into " I don't care," mode the food was getting sloppy and not good. THey have gotten their act together I am glad to report, and have returned to the Manatus of long ago. Our last thee orders have been perfect: Eggs are excellent as are breakfast meats and no one makes better home fries than Manatus. Their salads are once again fresh and bountiful and their delivery is prompt. Maybe they started reading our reviews on Seamless Web? Whatever... I hope, they stay this course.

We order from Manutus frequently (at least 3 times a week). In the last 2 months we began to notice a decline in the accuracy of their delivery orders. Numerous times we've ordered cheese fries (the same way every time- extra cheese, please don't burn, side of brown gravy) and each time they are delivered burned, very little cheese. Tonight we asked specifically again, here was our order- Chicken Fingers Special Instructions: American cheese on fries (extra cheese and please don't burn!) thanks! Cheese Fries Special Instructions: Extra cheese and side of brown gravy American Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwich White Bread American Cheese Bacon $1.00 After over an HOUR of waiting for our food (their delivery estimate on seamless states "10-25 mins") it arrived with the cheese burned on one of the orders of fries, no cheese at all on the platter with fries, no brown gravy and a very burned grilled cheese. After calling to politely point this out and ask that the cheese fries and gravy at least be brought to us as we ordered them, they aggressively rambled on in an almost manic manner about it being our fault, then it was seamless webs fault, then they insisted the cheese was NOT burned, then saying we hadn't paid for it (?) and that they were not coming to bring us the items that were left out of our order. We'd only had pleasant exchanges in the past before with Manatus nor do we EVER complain, so this reaction was cartoonish for us and disappointing. We were finally able to convince him to bring us what we ordered but only after agreeing to pay $1.75 for the extra cheese. (all this after we threatened to write a bad review on Seamless.) They finally brought us the rest of the food (and asked us for an additional tip)! A message to all restaurant management on Seamless: treat your patrons (regulars) with a bit more decency to prevent losing their business permanently as in the case of Manatus tonight.

Manatus is a wonderful restaurant! Traditional diner food, a huge menu, and a full liquor bar add up to a great time. A great location for people watching in the West Village, Manatus is open 24 hours, and is always a good place to go to for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a midnight snack. Manatus does not disappoint!

This is often my go-to late night spot because they're open 24 hours on weekends and I work nights till 5am! They've always been fast & consistent and the delivery guys are usually always really nice. Food is decent- standard diner fare. Eggs Benedict is delicious and I love that I can order it at 5:30am after getting home from work on a Thursday! Burgers are pretty good too. Again it's standard diner fare, but their consistently quick delivery won me over.

Ordered a steak with snow peas, got a steak with broccoli. While I was unpacking, the drink fell out and spilled all over my floor--I'll be more careful next time, but they should have done a better job of packaging it. Some delivery places will wrap the drink in plastic wrap.

Awful. Don't even bother ordering a certain type of egg because it will just come a different way. Scrambled does not mean over easy fried. Not to mention it took 45 MINUTES!!!! UGH.

I ordered food. They forgot my desert item. I called them, they said they would send it over right away and they never did. The dessert I never got was only $4.99 I think but the feeling of being cheated/ripped off, you can't put a price on that. Really lame!

Order from here often because the food is great and they deliver quickly. The gentleman that delivered my food tonight got stuck in my horrible elevator for close to an hour this evening and when he was rescued by new york's bravest, the first thing he did was try to find my apartment and apologize for the food being cold. Great food, even better people.

Service was a bit slow, but it was a rainy night. Everything we ordered was awesome. We ordered late night, and I def recommend the buffalo wings, and the chicken parmagiana.

I should have been less harsh with my rating for this place. It is a diner after all, I shouldn't expect more than that. However, I find that even for a diner the food was mediocre and not appetizing at all. The delivery was quick though and that is a good thing.

worst delivery experience ever. The food was around 2 hours late, the delivery guy was apparently lost, food was in our food, and the lettuce was brown. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED
