Mangez Avec Moi

I live and work a few blocks from Mangez Avec Moi and have had a consistently nice experience whether eating in, carrying out, or having food delivered. I have eaten here with friends, family, co-workers, even my eight year old son (who craves their very rare Thai Sticky Rice pancakes). Their sandwich shop next door serving traditional Vietnamese Bánh mì is also great!

There's Thai food everywhere, but especially for lunch it's so hit or miss, I've come to rely on Mangez Avec Moi. The soups are incredibly flavored, the noodle dishes less sticky and bland than many places I've tried, and the more creative dishes are excellent (I can never resist adding the Julienned Green Papaya Salad to my lunch order). Delivery is usually quite quick as well, certainly better than average for Tribeca lunch spots.

They might be decent with other dishes, but the vegetable pad thai was not good. The portion was also rather small - and it's not as if the price was any lower than the Thai spots I typically order from/frequent. Pretty much confirmed my fears with regards to ordering from a place that "specializes" in more than one kind of cuisine.

Horrible. Threw most of it away. Curry had maybe .50 cents worth of ingredients; no eggplant, string beans, or other vegetables. The biggest joke was the rice, which was so old and hard I literally needed a knife to cut it apart. I can't believe this place has been in business for so long. Do yourself a favor and order a pizza instead give the lack of quality Thai downtown.

If I could give this zero stars, I would. Absolutely the worst Thai food I have ever had. The Massaman Curry is disgusting, was supposed to come with rice and did not. The Pad Thai looked and tasted like it came from a 3 day old buffet. And we simply requested "no mango" on our sticky rice, and it came with Mango. Don't order from here. Ever.

The fresh summer rolls are large - could have been my main meal. The brown rice order was very small. The green curry didn't have as much sauce as green curry normally does. I might get the summer rolls again, but probably not the green curry.

Food is usually better when you are starving. We were starving and this was still horrible. First, the delivery guy had a bad attitude. This would be ok if the food was good. We ordered massaman curry, with extra vegetables. There were no vegetables, and the curry tasted like straight sugar. Also got fried rice. BAD. Do not order from here.

The green curry portion I received was tiny: the container half filled up and missing most of the vegetables mentioned. More than that, the food was TERRIBLE. The delivery guy called me - shouted downstairs, downstairs! into the phone before hanging up - and wasn't even there! When he finally arrived he shoved the food at me and slammed the door. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Meh. Pad Thai was not terrible, but the shrimp were the really really small kind and it didn't taste very authentic. Very greasy. The delivery guy was kind of the pits. He came to my office and waited in the hall when I got to the door and just stared at me and didn't move at all - clearly didn't want to walk all the way to me. He handed me the bag and walked away without saying anything. Weird.

They messed up my order, were really unpleasant about correcting it, and 6 or so cold, tiny shrimp into a box to fix it. I won't be ordering from them again.

I ordered the mango chicken and teh chicken was dry, the sauce was good a lil on the sweet side but good. I also ordered shrimp fried pineapple rice and it was okay, there wasn't any pineapple and the rice was a lil mushy just mediocre.
