Market Diner

Market diner is one of my favorite reasons to live in HK. The food and service are consistently great. Order up!

We've ordered a fair amount of food from Market Diner over the past five years, probably at least three or four lunches and dinners per week. Used to be decent quality, but has been going downhill fast in the last two months. Every order in that timeframe has had an issue / missing items, items substituted with no notice, food arriving ice cold. Today, our experience with Market Diner finally put them on the "never again" list. My wife and I ordered breakfast: her hashbrowns were room temperature and oil-soaked, her scrambled eggs were burned and had a medicinal taste. My 'lumberjack' breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and sausage arrived looking ok, and warmish, but without any syrup. We called the diner to, very politely, request syrup, and they assured us it would be right over. Even though we live about a five minute walk from Market Diner, as of a half hour later, no delivery. When I called to inquire if the delivery person had at least left, I was told there was no record of my request. I pointed out that the pancakes were now at room temperature and asked for a refund, and was told no. I asked to speak to a manager, and was told he was not available, and wouldn't be for a least an hour. The only conclusion I can reach based on this and my recent prior experience is that Market Diner clearly no longer cares about its delivery customers; and , if by some happy accident you do get a complete order, you can rest assured that the food quality is *horribly* inferior to what you'd reasonably expect based on the price. Strongly recommended against for delivery.

Wow, what an amazing surprise. Since it was only two of us, we decided not to make Thanksgiving dinner. We still wanted Turkey so we ordered the Turkey and stuffing and we were so impressed with the feast that showed up at our door. We got turkey, stuffing, yams, vegetables, mashed potatoes, soup and a slice of pumpkin pie. It was soooooo good and we were completely stuffed. Thanks Market Diner for making our Thanksgiving a great one!!!

They are quick with delivery. The food is good and they accomodate any changes that I might make. We have never had anything to complain about. 1500 food establishments in this city and no one knows how to make edible home fries. Market Diner serves hash browns. And actually fries them.

Had the best brunch delivered today from Market Diner. The Bagel Benedict was phenomenal. Nice fresh bagel topped with smoked salmon two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Wonderful creation and excellent execution, even for delivery.....highly recommend this dish.

I've been to at least 5 different diners ordering the same thing: Grilled Chicken Breast with a side of veggies and mashed potatoes. Market Diner has the best Grilled Chicken Breast. Full of flavor, juicy, and the potatoes....YUM!!!

Market Diner managed to not send the correct order twice. Food was not worth the effort(Pastrami Sandwich was like eating dry cardboard). Will not order from here again.

Consistently and solidly good diner food; it's one of the few restaurants in the area from which I repeatedly order. Everything arrives well-packaged, warm, and almost always within the delivery estimate. Mistakes are extremely rare, but are properly and courteously addressed when they occur.

We've eaten here regularly and love this diner. The service is snappy and the food is always fresh and tasty. You can go for something light or get an artery-choking fix of pancakes and bacon drizzled with yummie maple syrup. What's not to love?
