Matsu exceeded my initial expectation and am now a frequency customer!

I love the sushi here. It is delicious. My roommate and I often order from here on a weekly basis and we are always satisfied. Our apartment favorites are: Yellowtail Scallion Tuna and Avocado Spicy Tuny Sweetheart Rool Avocado Sashimi Seaweed Salad Tuna Sashimi Yes, their delivery time is unpredictable, often taking close to an hour to arrive and they seem to only be in the 15 minute time range, when I order on my way home from work, which is a 20-30 minute commute. However, that doesn't bother me enough to discourage me from ordering from here. Also, to everyone complaining about their cooked food...Matsu is a sushi place. They specialize in sushi. It is not so surprising their cooked entrees aren't always the best. And with that said, my roommate and I are going to go enjoy our latest order!

I've tried every sushi place on the UWS multiple times and Matsu is the best I've found. I've ordered from there about 20 times and it's always been fast and, importantly, accurate. I'm surprised other reviewers have had problems with delivery - not that I don't believe them, it's just not been my experience at all.

Matsu entrees are always fresh and flavorful. I love the veggie tempura and chicken teriyaki. They are both always prepared to perfection. The details are just right -- the side salad and dressing are yummy. Even the way they package the delivery shows such care. A meal from Matsu is always an event.

first of all, i don't care about the food. the delivery guy was so rude from the moment he rang the bell very aggressively on my door. he gave me this look that's full of anger. initially i was wondering if this guy is angry b/c i didn't tip him enough? but i do not think so. i just skimmed through the reviews below, and appreantly, i'm not the only person who encountered this unpleasant moment whit this guy. as someone else said, yes- he actually does give you the look that he wants to kill you and yell at you. and since it seems like this guy has been around for quite a while, so i guess matsu doesn't really care about people's complaints. no matter how good the food is, to have it delivered by this angry dude will totally kill your apetite. this was my frist time trying here, and will not order again for sure.

Awful in every way. Estimate said 15-30 mins and it took 45. The fish tasted days-old, the shumai was cold and flavorless, the chicken yakitori was tough, and even the salad dressing was bitter and sour. Literally the only tasty thing was the rice. I feel so bad writing a bad review, as I've never done so before, but hopefully they will read this and make some changes. Until then, I won't be ordering from them again!

Food took almost 2x as long as the estimated delivery time to arrive. When it arrived it was cold, as to be expected. Outside of being cold, it was at least well prepared and tasted good, but with all the other options available, it doesn't make sense to to order from here again.

Took double the time to get to my apartment. Ordered sushi, and the rice was already hard by the time it came to me. couldn't eat all of it because it tasted so cold and hard.

I ordered the Spicy Girl Roll, it was probably one of the worst rolls I've had. There was way too much filling with a very thin layer of rice, which made the roll taste very slimy and greasy. The fried tobiko was oddly mixed in with the spicy tuna, which made the whole roll even greasier. Also, there is no sign of yellowtail in the roll although the menu description says so. Do not try this roll.

Gave this restaurant a try for the first time as I typically order from the same place. Unfortunately I could not eat the sashimi appetizer or the cucumber salmon sashimi as it smelled very bad and fishy... which is not typical of sushi. May have been the fault of the delivery but either way it's first and last for me

They deliver quickly and the food is always good. The spicy tuna rolls are delicious. Too bad they still have that beyond rude and abrasive delivery guy that EVERYONE has complained about. Lowers my rating.
