Matsu Sushi (70th Street)

My favorite sushi in the 72nd St area. Fast delivery. Fresh fish and fresh warm rice. We probably order twice a month from here.

I order (or used to order) from Matsu several times per week. Last night, I placed an order that was supposed to come in 30-45 minutes. I cancelled after an hour. The delivery actually showed up 1 hour and 50 minutes after I placed it. Never again!

Consistently fresh and well-prepared sushi, Matsu is the golden standard for lunch-value sushi. It gets absolutely packed inside, every weekday.

Love this place. The sashimi salad with mango and kiwi and sweet sauce is more of a dessert than a starter, but I always order it! Portion size is good for the money, and their sushi is always fresh. Never had a bad experience. Highly recommended.

I've ordered from most sushi places on the UES and this place is now my #1. The delivery was quick and the sushi was really fresh, in fact it was the best eel I've ever had. The spicy mayo in their spicy rolls was delicious, not super thick like other places and had the perfect heat intensity. I also appreciate how they do not try to pack all of the rolls into 1 container. Highly recommend this place and probably will never order from another sushi place again.

The wait time said 30 to 45 minutes. I am still waiting after 1 hour, 10 minutes even after I called to see where the delivery is.
