Good food, terrible delivery, not ordering from here again. Melt Shop -- hire another delivery guy, this is ridiculous

The sandwich (buttermilk chicken) and tater tots were still warm and crispy when it arrived. The soup was lukewarm, but that's to be expected. The delivery was great, at the early side of the service window. The food was tasty, especially the tater tots. Definitely will order from here again. Update: Every time since the first time I have ordered from Melt Shop they have 1) exceeded the delivery window by at least 30 minutes, which is horrible for lunch service and/or 2) left out items from my order, i.e., extra melt sauce, soup, drink. The food is still delicious, but the delivery problems are pretty overwhelming.

New Yorker's are a tough bunch! For a place actually called "The Melt Shop" serving a relatively limited menu of mostly of grilled cheeese variants and their accompaniments, it's really a great place! Even if it's not always piping hot or NYT 4 star gourmet, -- being a big busy city, delvery can be inconsistent (at times) -- the food almost always hits the mark, is homey and tasty. When something simple, tasty and fun is called for, then Melt Shop is an A+ choice. If you want more than a great sandwhich and soup (and some other sinful stuff) find a place that advertises more and hope they deliver, no pun intended. It's 5 stars for me because it delivers what it pormises -- and there aren't many businesses that do.

I ordered the Pulled Pork sandwich from Melt Shop today, and my life will never be the same again. While delivery was 15 minutes late, all traces of annoyance, anger and crankyness dissipated upon my first bite of the sandwich. Every morsel was CORPULENT with butter, flavor, grease and pig, and while that may sound disgusting and unhealthy, it filled the void in my soul for food happiness. I sit here agog... I've used Seamless for three years but have never once been moved to write a review, but Melt Shop has reached my heart (figuratively and literally, can't be having too many of these at my age). They have my undying loyalty and affection, and for them I will fight until my last breath.

A little expensive for what you get but tastes really good and is my guilty pleasure food on a lazy Saturday. The melt sauce is delicious

Food arrived cold after waiting over an hour and items were missing. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that has happened. It's annoying enough that they now charge for Melt Sauce, that they then fail to deliver it. Repeatedly. Had to call several times to get someone to answer the phone, the person who answered asked what the delivery guy looked like, but since he left the bag at the front desk of my building and took off, I couldn't tell her. I will only order from them again if I'm available to pick-up the order, so I can check to make sure everything is in the bag.

I love this place. My only complaint is that I wish they would provide more melt sauce in each cup. I find that I need about one and a half to two cups of melt sauce for an order of shop tots. But the shop tots are some of the best tater tots you'll ever have. I've tried several of the sandwiches but my favorite is Buffalo Bleu. I've never had a bad sandwich here. The cookies and cream shake is a mindblowingly delicious way to end a meal from this place. Warning: this place will probably become one of your guilty pleasures

This is a seriously good Buttermilk Fried Chicken Grilled Cheese sandwich..... Tasty coleslaw and juicy fried chicken is a just-thick-enough slice of sourdough bread, with their house melt sauce. Just made my Wednesday. Oh and it's also a really large sandwich. My only suggestion - find a way to keep the sandwiches warmer so that us Seamless-ordering folks can get our sandwiches hot and fresh, will make the experience that much better.

Late Delivery I called to ask how much longer the wait would be, they told me they called me to tell me the delivery would be late. They did not call me nor had any missed calls. Ordered the tuna melt + bacon (for extra $2) Barely had any tuna on it (thank goodness for the bacon) and they forgot the "melt" on my tuna melt. No cheese??? Regardless, with all the butter, grease and salt, it was still tasty. The tomato soup is chunky (which I personally like) but is very very salty. $16 for a sandwich + soup (and I'm still hungry). Probably won't order from here again.

Love the food, Tots are awesome with melt sauce and the best thing is the delivery people speak English so its easy for me to communicate and they actually read the delivery instructions!! My office is a little tricky to get to and they deliver correctly each time. Yum.

Decent food, incompetant delivery people. I have now had two instances where the delivery guy did not read the delivery instructions, forcing me to wait longer than it would have taken me to go to the shop and buy the food myself.

Love the Shop Tots and especially the Melt Sauce. Sandwiches and tomato soup are great too. The staff is always incredibly helpful. There was one mistake with a recent order, and they remedied it within 5 minutes of calling and brought a little something extra. Always a satisfied customer.

was skeptical about delivery grilled cheese - but both sandwiches were hot and not at all soggy when they arrived, not to mention ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. get extra melt sauce, YUM!!
