Monte's Restaurant

Pizza was awesome but the calamari was uneatable. Rubbery, chewy, soggy. Just bad. The "spicy red sauce" is just pizza sauce and is not spicy. Really unhappy with this order. .

I ordered the Eggs a la Monte's. There was a huge piece of egg shell. The food was cold. The poached eggs looked like they had exploded and were all over everything, as if someone shook the container violently and repeatedly. And was almost no béchamel, maybe a scant teaspoon.

This is the second time I've ordered pizza from Monte's. Taste-wise, it's good, though not really exceptional for a traditional-style pie. That said, the problem is that, like many other local places, their pizzas just don't travel well. Both times I've ordered much of the pizza's topping ended up on the inside roof of the box. This last time, half the pizza was folded over unto itself. A real mess, to be sure. From now on I'll stick with pizzerias that specialize in delivering pies, rather than sit-down restaurants for whom pizza delivery is just an afterthought.

Called 50 minutes after I placed the order to let me know the kitchen was backed up and they wouldn't be able to honor it.

the order was incomplete. the $30 Filet Mignon missing. the delivery man had dropped the bags in my arms and ran before i could even check to verify the order. i called him on his cell- of course, no answer. i called the store. they had to 'check' and promised to call me right back. by the time they did call- to verify what i knew- my food was cold. 40 minutes later a new delivery was made to complete the order w/ barely an apology. no offer of reduction- no attempt to fix the ruined time- it'll be unlikely that i'll ever consider them again.
