My husband and I searched for a while for great neighborhood Italian delivery, and Montes knocks it out of the part! We love the bolognese, lasagna, and chicken parm.

I'm a little surprised at how many people dislike Montes. Montes reminds me so much of my Grandma's cooking. It's my goto Italian spot, especially the night before long runs. The delivery takes a while but is definitely worth it. They are also very generous with bread and breadsticks.

Simply the best Italian restaurant in the Village. Chef Pietro Mosconi always ensures that the food at Montes is of the highest quality. I've never had even an "average" meal ....... they've all been great.

The food is good, the service great. Fast delivery with consistent old school italian favorites. No surprises though, everything comes from that red sauce flavor palate. If that is what you're in the mood for, you won't go wrong.

worth the money. this is THE Italian place if you live in the west village. we order seamless every night (as sad as it is) and we order from these guys 90% of time whenever we get Italian (so 2x a week at least, lol). These guys know what it's all about! will go to the restaurant one day, I swear! <3 <3 <3

Regretfully ordered the chicken parm. The gristle-laden chicken, buried under way too much cheese, was rib meat. At $17, I guess I assumed it would be white meat. Gross!

Homemade pasta- it makes all the difference. This is an old school Greenwich Village red sauce Italian restaurant, and one of the best. No one has mentioned the veal piccata or calve's liver with onions, but they are both delish. Oh, and the fried pork chop- very thin and tender. Also, the stuffed clams.

Just not good. Bad red sauce makes most dishes bad...chicken parm was poorly made and extremely small portion. Not ordering again.

Simply bad food. I ordered from here for the first and LAST time. I tried their chicken cacciatore - which was terrible. Chicken was fatty and coated with too much pepper. There were no onions, a staple of cacciatore, and the sauce had no flavor beyond the excess of pepper. Mushrooms were the only thing edible. The pasta it came with had flavorless sauce. There was nothing redeeming about this meal and it was overpriced to boot. Ugh, just ugh.

I ordered the lasagna and tiramisu. The lasgana was similar in flavor and texture to that of something you would be from the freezer aisle and the tiramisu was so badly shaken that it looked more like a smoothie than a dessert.

Amazing! This food tastes like the kind my Italian grandmother would make, very authentic Italian. Delicious baked artichoke and incredible meat sauce. Delivered on time and only took about 25 minutes at 7pm. I specifically requested bread and butter with my order and they gave me a big paper bag full of all types of bread and breadsticks. I can't believe a restaurant of this quality is willing to deliver, but I'm extremely happy about it. It's a bit expensive, but definitely worth it.

The vongole has little clams, and none in shells. Also too salty in general.
