I would definitely recommend Obao to someone looking for good Thai food! We have been impressed with all of the dishes we have ordered from Obao, and the food always gets delivered quickly. The estimated delivery time was 30-45 minutes, and it came in just under 30 minutes even though it is very bad weather outside.

Delicious! It was estimated at 30-45 minutes, but it actually arrived in like 15-20 minutes -- and it was pouring rain! The delivery guy was super friendly (that can't be overstated in NYC). I was a little concerned that there was a "medium well/semi poached" egg on top of my pad thai as I've never seen it prepared that way, but it was delicious. I've ordered pad thai all over the country and this was definintely a top ten. This is my first order from Obao, but it definitely won't be my last!

Looking for pho? Well this is probably one of the few places in this area that will deliver it to your door, good authentic taste with other common viet food. Inexpensive enough for take out, but the decor is nice enough to eat at the restaurant, as well. I'm glad i live near Obao's!

Obao has awesome vietnamese/thai/pan-asian food. I think the food is tasty, and the options are appealing to many different groups. The noodles and fried rice are very satisfying and delicious. The viet fried rice is my favorite (with siracha of course). The pork belly with chinese broccoli is also very good if you want something less carby. For a noodle dish, I would go with the Pad see ew. For starters, I recommend the spring rolls.

This is my favorite place for pad thai in the city! It comes with a nice runny egg on top which makes it even more awesome. I've also tried the fried rice which is very good. Prices are decent as well. I highly recommended Obao for at least these two items, but I'm sure the rest of their menu items are delicious as well!

The BEST vietnamese summer rolls I have had in the city! Also loved the soba noodle tiger shrimp coconut soup. Delivery was fast and the price was totally worth it for the quality of the food. Will definitely order from Obao again.

I've revised my review from Nov '10 re: Obao’s "shrimp [not] well-washed & de-veined.” Since then, all shrimp have been nicely cleaned, de-veined, & butterflied. OBAO, THANKS FOR LISTENING! The +1 star is also given upon my discovery that Obao serves up a hard-to-find fave dish of mine done right: Daikon cake, which I've had as Cantonese dim sum or in a Malaysian Chai tow kway. This Viet version was a stir-fry combo of shrimp, bean sprouts, scallions, & chunks of daikon cake (like gnocchi but made w/ daikon (japanese turnip) in a sweet soy sauce. If you've never had it, I highly recommend it! Obao's is almost perfect…each pan-fried cake has a thin crunchy layer on the outside from frying & is soft on the inside. Frankly, I like mine even crispier & well-done on the outside with little to no sauce. In addition, Siracha & hoisin sauces are served as dipping sauces to the daikon cake. Their other dishes: Cha gio (fried Viet spring rolls) is better than average but becomes soggy if taken to go. Calamari app was a bit chewy & was lightly breaded, salty & peppery, cooked w/ slivers of yummy onions & complemented w/ a sweet & sour cucumber sauce. Claypot shrimp-glass noodles, Chinese shitake mushrooms, red & green bell peppers, & long stalks of scallions–had a good gingery & salty taste. Unfortunately, we ordered this dish to go & are sure it would’ve been much better had we eaten it in its original claypot vessel. Green curry w/ beef, eggplant, & bamboo shoots was pretty watery & didn’t have the usual heat as that of a Thai curry. Grilled shrimp & pork w/ vermicelli, lettuce, chopped peanuts, & bean sprouts was pretty tasty but had a poor, fatty quality of pork. Overall, Obao dishes out pretty tasty & authentic fare but you will pay well over the average cost of a Vietnamese dish you'd find in C-town here. So, it’s fair to say that one would expect not just above-average dishes but also the use of quality produce & preparation...or at least meat that’s not laden with fat.

Delivery was decent - got my food within 50 minutes. Evidently, they cannot tell eggplant from tofu ---- I didn't get what I ordered. And I paid extra for a poached egg that never arrived. I wish I could get that back...for $3, I could buy a dozen eggs to poach my own self...!

Fastest delivery EVER! I ordered for a late night at dinner time, and the food was here within 15 minutes. And it was delicious -- I recommend the Pineapple Fried Rice.

I wish I didn't have to give a negative review, but the food was very disappointing. I ordered via Seamless and while the food was delivered quickly, it was already cold when it arrived. This was very surprising. I could have let it go, if it wasn't for the fact that the shrimp was undercooked. I would be willing to wait longer for fully cooked food. It put me off completely. Sorry, but I will not be ordering from here again.
