Delicious and fast. Mushroom Risotto antipasti and the meatballs were delicious and hot. The ricotta zeppoles were AMAZING!!!

If five stars are saved for the really top gourmet restaurants with transcendent food, then 4 stars are as good as it can get for a neighborhood restaurant, and Pescatore qualifies. Their crudos (called tartare on the Seamless menu) are particularly wonderful, and their veggie appetizers are lovely. Indeed having a hard time getting past them to have enough room left for a main course.

I have to respond to the lackluster review I caught just below. Pescatore rocks! Yes the food is pricier than I would like it to be, but running a restaurant on 2nd ave, I am sure is anything but cheap. I am sure the people at Pescatore are trying to make a living and not looking to screw you over in the process. The Linguini Nero is awesome, my favorite go to from this place. Sometimes the pasta is overcooked, as I generally like it a bit al dente, but it usually delivers. We have plenty of restaurants to order from in the 10022 but I have like 20 regular things I order from over 100 places in the area mas or menos. Pescatore is good for 2 of 'em. Chicken Parm Entree and the aforementioned. So, fork over some F'n cash and enjoy. We all know how much we've spent at a bar for around of drinks, so 30 on a nourishing meal, I am fine with. Oh yeah, the Nero Entree is a man sized portion.

Take note that the main course serving in this place is like a size of an appetizer for a price of $20-$24. I wash in shocked when I get my spaghetti dish ... I mean how much a carton of pasta cost? The most expensive is about $5 (organic) a carton - and that could feed a family of 7 when cooked. Not just worth it for the price and quality.

Our food was excellent and delivery was quick. The Amalfi Seafood salad was a little sparse on the arugula but the quantity of fresh, delicious seafood (shrimp, clams, scallops. octopus) more than made up for the deficiency. The steamed mussels arrived hot and perfectly cooked--no sand, no closed mussels in the bunch. My husband ate the entire fettucine with chicken and mushrooms, so I didn't get a taste; he reported that it was very good.
