Pongal (Lex)

Pongal used to be my go-to Indian place, but lately they seem to have changed their recipes and/or quality. The saag paneer is now blended, soupy and bland. Samosas were hard and not flavorful enough. Given all of the other Indian choices in the area, I'd rather go elsewhere.

Food: Ordered a Pongal special and an iddly. Pongal - The rice was tasteless - not enough of the lentils made their way into this pongal. Boiled rice with cashews is a more appropriate description. The coconut chutney smelled of stale coconuts and was watery. Sambar was also watery. Service: The pongal special includes a vada. Didn't arrive with my special.

Ordered a Jeera Dal and Malai Kofta, along with Chapati. The Dal was pretty good, Malai Kota average and the Chapati, which is not truly a Chapati but a Tawa Paratha, was good too. Overall, a good ordering option for Vegetarians.

I'm not sure if this was beginner's luck, but our very first order trying out this place and it was such a genuine surprise... delicious!! My standard of comparison is always saag (or palak) paneer and I will tell you right off the bat that this one did not disappoint. In fact, I loved it so much that I couldn't stop groaning while I was eating it (which greatly disturbed my husband sitting next to me). In any case, we haven't ordered again since but next time I have a craving for saag panner, this place is going to be my first go-to choice.

Horrible experience...my food was more than an hour late, and they didn't even apologize for it, plus they were rude on the phone and hung up on me. Never ordering or eating here again!

Fast delivery, food comes steaming hot, and best of all, the food is hard to beat. Samosas are top notch and so is the Sag. They are also extremely honest (unlike many seamless restaurants). Placed an order and before I even opened up my delivery to start eating, they came back because they forgot something. That speaks words. Totally recommended.

they're food is really greasy. the flavors are good, but the heat melts the plastic into the food, and the sauces are too heavy. it tastes like what it is: fast-food indian food, as opposed to quality indian food, but somewhat tasty indian food nonetheless
