Ponty Bistro

Ponty Bistro ruined "treat yourself Sunday" completely. I decided to indulge in a croque monsieur (my absolute favorite) for brunch and I was delivered a ham and cheese sandwich with mayo. No béchamel. No gruyere. No good. Mayo? I threw it out and reordered from Il Cantuccio. Also, it took over an hour and a half to be delivered.

Ordered from Ponty Bistro to sample some flavors and watch the USA /Canada hockey game. The food is FANTASTIC! The butternut squash soup is perfect, and the crispy tuna and crabcake are delicious, too. Excellent salads, desserts. The delivery was prompt and courteous. I have eaten in the restaurant and love their other seafood dishesm and the roasted lamb. The ambiance is charming--they play cool African music. the two chefs are friendly and accomodating. I highly recommend Ponty Bistro!

2/13/2010 - I just ordered from Ponty Bistro. The delivery guy came to my apt in about 30 minutes. He handed me a plastic bag containing the food. I opened the bag to discover that they forgot my main course. They did not forget my soup, and salad. I took one sip of soup, and threw the rest in the garbage. The salad had brown lettuce. Awesome.

I've ordered from Ponty several times -- always the steak Niokolakoba. The first few times (more than a year ago now), it was very good, though a little small for the 25 dollar price tag. The past two times, however, the steak was even smaller and of terrible quality, including so much gristle that only half of it was edible, and horribly overcooked. I asked for medium rare and got steaks that had no pink in them at all. Gray all through and dry as a bone. This could be because the tiny (1/2" thick) gristlely steaks they are using now cook through way more quickly than the better ones they had in the past. It's unfortunate, because the past product was tasty enough that I was willing to cough up the $25 when I had a craving, but it seems that they are severely cost-cutting on the meat (the sauce and fries are still excellent, though) and there's no way I'm ordering the steak again. I'm not sure if I want to try something else less expensive -- I might, as I really like the menu and concept of the restaurant.

Waited almost 2 hours for cold food! Extremely small pathetic portion that was way over priced. I had to order food from somewhere else after! Very Disappointing, big waste of my time and money and Im still hungry

Plus: Food arrived quickly. Minus: I ordered the truffle mac n cheese - it was like easymac with truffle oil on it. no sauce or crust. it was not great.

Horrible horrible service. They are liars too. Delivery time is supposed to be 40 minutes. Have ordered twice from here and both times the food came in 2 hours. It is ridiculous a restaurant like this functions. Please take them off seamless web

I received my food an hour and a half after I ordered it. I called once to check on the order and was rudely received and hung up on. When my food arrived I opened the bag to see what shape my meal was in. I honestly chuckled to myself when I pulled out the room temperature smoothie and the cold eggs. I would not recommend their delivery service. I have not been inside their restaurant, so I can't judge that. Overall, the food was late and the wrong temperature.

The fundamental rule of business is that price is commensurate with service and this restaurant failed on three levels of service: delivery, food and common sense. 1. Delivery: They wasted my time calling me three times on how to find my apartment. Use Google Maps, or alternatively use the fact I already put the cross street on my seamless account. How hard is it to navigate the grid design of manahattan? 2. Food: Food was bland, overpriced and cold thanks to the fact that this restaurant doesn't understand how to addresses work. 3. Common Sense: Don't price your food so high when you can't make deliveries on time, the food tastes terrible and you have rude service while repeatedly calling me for directions when Google Maps can easily solve. Overall: Overpriced and what they offer doesn't match what you pay for. My cooking might be terrible, but I can cook faster and better food than wasting my time waiting for them to find out how cross streets work.

Just horrible, horrible service. I've ordered from here twice....one time the order was never confirmed and just cancelled after 40 minutes. The second time the restuarant claimed the delivery guy was out after ~50 minutes....but it took another 40 minutes for him to arrive. And the food was cold....and pretty miserable. Never, never order from here.

I ordered two dessert dishes from this restaurant. After calling the restaurant no less than three times, the delivery man finally arrived. He only had one of the two desserts I ordered. Completely unacceptable.
