Popover Cafe

I love Popover Cafe. I have been a client for years and I have never been disappointed. The Eggs Benedict Arnold with salmon are delicious, so creamy. The service inside the restaurant is always nice and I haven't had any problem with delivery either.

We have been very pleased with the food from Popover Cafe. The quality of the ingredients is A+ and the portions are so huge we can never finish our meal. The special dinner menu is an amazing value and the choices are all delicious. We have ordered for years and have yet to be disappointed.

For $29, I got a Chicken Pop Pie, a garden salad, and a slice of key lime pie (all part of the prix fixe deal). I have to say that for the price, I was sorely disappointed. The food was very mediocre all around: nothing tasted bad, but nothing was all that great, either. Even the popover was lacking in inspiration, which was a real shame since that was the one thing I expected this place to do perfectly! Another downside about this delivery was the time: I live five blocks away, and it took them 1 hour to get me my order at 7:30 on a Monday night. There are so many quicker, cheaper, and tastier options on Seamless that this is probably the last time I'll be ordering from the Popover Cafe.

Love this place live, food is great, disappointed that they didn't include the popover I spent 2.95 via seamless. They sent it but still a tad annoying. Make sure they include everything when you order.

I ordered food at 7:50, the site said "Estimated Delivery Time: 30-45 min"...after an hour, still no food. I called after an hour had passed and was told that they were "all booked" and that the delivery guy had "just left" and will be there in "about 10 minutes". Finally, it arrived at 9:10 - twenty minutes after my last phone call, and 80 minutes since my order was placed...AND the food was cold. When I called to speak with the manager, she said they would refund my order, but they would have someone come to take the food BACK! Who does that? The manager was unapologetic about the wait, and was argumentative when I offered constructive criticism on how this problem could have been made lighter. Sorry Popover, you used to be a good spot, but this is the final straw. Please shape up your delivery and your customer service. If you can't deliver what you advertise, at least do your customers a courtesy of a phone call so they can order from someplace else.

Burgers are a dry disaster. What kind of idiot orders a burger from a cafe? Me. Popovers are amazing though, so 2 stars, but this place is better in person where you can order appropriately!

Ordered the potato latkes entree, which the menu says comes with a popover. There was no popover. Very disappointing. The bag just had the latkes and a small garden salad. I might as well have just ordered the latkes appetizer and a small salad and saved a few bucks. (updated) Decided to give them another try, and ordered "chicken pop pie". Disappointing again. I don't entirely understand, because I've eaten at the restaurant and they have a solid brunch. But definitely striking out for takeout.

Although the food is pretty good, the service has gone seriously downhill. Where they used to immediately contact you if there was any delivery problem, they now take forever to deliver...if they deliver. The other day we experienced our 3rd poor service - took 2-1/2 hours to finally get our dinner. Alas, we're done with Popover, very sad.

The food was very good, but apparently the restaurant didn't read the order to see that it was supposed to be delivered at 8:30 and they brought it at 7:30. Luckily I ordered an entree salad and they packaged the protein separately so I was able to reheat it. They just need better attention to detail, but I'd order from them again since I enjoyed the meal.

Best Salmon ever! Amazing! Cooked to perfection and served with delicious mashed sweet potatoes and green beans. I order from Seamless 3-5 times/week and this is one of the best dinners I've EVER had. So glad I found this restaurant.

I placed an order, only to be told the item I ordered was no longer on the menu. (Um, I ordered it off the menu. Hello!) Then I was told I would have to contact Seamless about any price differential on the changed order. So not worth it. I'm ordering my dinner to save time, people. Won't use the place again.

Food was late by 40 mins. I had to chase them to find out where it was and didn't even get an apology. They could do themselves a favour and remember that word of mouth is difficult to rebound from considering their history. Food was just ok. It was barely warm by the time I did get it. Pity. Theyre normally quite good.
