Growing up in San Diego I was surrounded by amazing and AUTHENTIC Mexican food. I moved to the east coast about 5 years ago and ever since I have been searching and trying anything that says "taco" or "authentic mexican" on their menu. Needless to say all have been beyond disappointing, until now. Sabor is as authentic as you're going to get in this city, I'm convinced. Everything from the size of the restaurant, to the carne asada, to the homemade Horchatta is mouth-watering. Although its not quite the same as home, after 5 years of searching, I have finally found the real "authentic" hole in the wall that can satisfy my cravings for Mexican food.

The soft tacos were smaller than expected, but double-tortillaed, steaming, tender, and flavorful. The Taco Loco was a fave. Love its chipotle flavor. Next time I'll get a Sack of Ten. Do they do that? Would rather have had the carnitas burrito served fresh on a plate, and still probably prefer those available at humongous size from Chipotle Grill. I wouldn't've minded a little bit more lemon, onions, peppers, cilantro, or salt - or any tomatoes - in the guac, but I have no complaints. It was very fresh, and full of perfectly ripe avocadoey flavor, and came with an ideal amount of fine chips. Everything ordered was delivered, and quickly. Muy bueno. Second time: Loco burrito was again superb. Sour cream tastes different, better, fresher, than from other places. Mi Nidito serves delicious Mexican, but is very expensive. Sabor is a much better value. Slow delivery time this time around, but that's takeout for you, I guess.

To preface this, I have been using seamlessweb for 6 years. this is my first review. When my dinner order was over an hour late, I called the resturant. I explained to the woman who answered how I had ordered on seamless over an hour and a half ago, and she said they didnt have any seamless orders. she then told me they were very busy and hung up. I called back 2x, no answer (picked up first ring on my initial call) I called seamless, and the rep straightened it all out, even the rude hostess attempted to call me back to appologize. It was a moot point to answer considering I will never order from there again. And unless you enjoy food that arrives late (if at all!) and rude service, neither should you.

Our order was LATE and when it finally got here the food is AWFUL!!! Worst Mexican food we have ever had in NYC and we have lived here for 13 years. This is my first time writing a review and I felt like I had to tell EVERYONE how horrible this place is. I want our $$ back.

Beyond disgusting. $42 for a pile of gross, cold, congealed food. Terrible nachos, horrible tacos, awful chimichanga. No taco sauce or salsa provided. Also took an hour for delivery and I live close. Avoid.

We ordered the nachos and the carnitas. DO NOT ORDER THE CARNITAS (or anything else for that matter). For 13 dollars you expect a certain portion size right? This was one of the smallest sized dishes I have ever seen. I'm pretty sure they took one of their pork tacos and just emptied it out into a tray and sealed it up. Five mouthfuls and flavorless. Its time to say NO for bad values. Try another place, anywhere but here. I want my money back.

Not impressed. Ordered burritos and had to pay $2 for cheese (not EXTRA cheese, just cheese). The burritos came and were small, which would be fine except for the price was over $14 with cheese. I would not eat here again.

Ordered from this place due to the good reviews, but after eating I felt I needed to set the record straight. It took about 50 minutes to arrive, the portions were small, and the food was just not good. It wasn't nasty, but it wasn't good. I know there are few options for Mexican on the UES, but try something else.

The food is very dry - I had a taco and enchilada. Twenty dollars is also a lot of money for a minimum order of Mexican food.

The food is consistently delicious - we order from here once a week because it's that addictive and fresh. Personal favorites are the nachos cozumel, quesadillas, enchiladas and taquitos. The 1-star deduction is due to two things (service related, does not reflect on the quality of the food): 1. the price v portion is a little inconsistent from dish to dish (and odd fact, if you go eat at the actual restaurant you literally get 1/3 of the portion you would get through delivery for the same price...why?!) and 2. they flat out refuse to make any modifications to dishes, which is just bizarre to me. An example is I asked if they could add cheese on top of the chicken taquitos and they said no. Why can't they just sprinkle cheese on top? Weird.

Got my hopes up after reading the San Diego reviewer's review since there is such great Mexican food in SoCal. Unfortunately we had VERY different experiences. Honestly this was pretty bad and not even close to being authentic. The "grilled skirt steak" on the carne asada platter was paper thin, dry, and tough. Pico tasted off and salsa seemed out of a bottle and watered down. The only thing that was good was the guacamole (not great but better than average). Would not order from here again - there is much better (and often cheaper) mexican out there just hard to find in this neighborhood.

The first time I ordered from this place, the food was quite good. Today, the food was bad enough that I literally threw it out. I guess it's hit or miss, but the miss was worse than the hit was good.

Ordered Sizzling Fajitas, got six pieces of pounded fatty beef swimming in broth (what happened to sizzling), a small side of rice and two teaspoons of beans for $15.95! I also ordered two cans of diet coke, which never made it. When I called the restaurant, they said they weren't able to process a refund and it'd be over an hour to get the soda's to me b/c they had to wait for the delivery man to come back with the only copy of their receipt. Dismal food + meager portions + incomplete order + no solution to a problem = one star.
