Sabor A Mexico Restaurant

When I'm hungry for some Mexican, no doubt I always go/ To my favorite in my neighborhood, Sabor A Mexico/ But the forecast showed some rain (I always check it in advance)/ And I was watching Downton Abbey (and not wearing any pants)/ I didn't have much food at home, my fridge was sourcreamless/ This was the perfect night to order in my food from Seamless/ On a cold and rainy night there is nothing I love more/ Than the Veggie Taco Salad that they make down at Sabor/ Their guys come really fast, even when it's cold and shivery/ Hardly any time goes by, my doorman calls and shouts, "DELIVERY!"/ The guy appears right at my door, I tip him and say, "See ya!"/ And I'm mackin' on my salad and its crunchy shell tortilla/ There's a myriad of veggies that are hot and so nutritious/ Atop a bed of yellow rice that's all sorts of delicious/ They didn't have great food like this where I'm from in Ohio/ This salad comes with guacamole and pico de gallo/ They give you things of sour cream and crazy good hot sauce/ For Mexican near me, Sabor A Mexico is boss/ I suggest you order now from the website or the app/ And maybe you will also then review it in a rap

Very disappointing dinner we received!. While they have some great things on the menu (chips, guacamole and tamales) the rest of the menu is very inconsistent. Paid $25 for lettuce with non-ripe avocado and a few very small and very dry soft tacos. We wish we could order from this restaurant with confidence that we would get our money's worth.

Surprisingly good Mexican food for the Upper East Side, and for Manhattan in general. I can vouch for the soft tacos…all of them. I'm from southern California and these tacos are served like they are at home. Now, the meat could have a little more 'sabor' in the form of seasoning and/or fat content, but otherwise, it's pretty darn good.

Best tacos in the UES. Timely delivery and nice staff if you go in for pick up. Good salsa too.

They were late.. Had to call an hour after placing my order to find out was going on. Then the guacamole was brown. The chicken burrito could have been a rice burrito, and probably was the worst burrito I've ever had - salty, with little flavor. And their chicken soup was greasy. The one star is for their effort and politeness.

I can't really rate the food yet. Ordered the Queso Enchiladas today and it took a little over an hour to get here. That's not so far outside their delivery window of 30 - 45 minutes that it's intolerable; the real problem is that the food was cold. I'm not even that picky about food temperature, but cheese enchiladas that are cold essentially turn into blocks of cheese. And I like the fact that they come with a layer of sour cream on top, but that made them unmicrowaveable. I suppose I could've scraped it off, microwaved them and put it back on, but for me ordering delivery is something I splurge on when I'm feeling lazy. Kind of defeats the purpose. This is a long-winded way of saying, not a great delivery experience. Hopefully it was a fluke. I'll probably give them another chance and up the rating if things go better.

I do not recommend the Grilled Steak Fajitas. The steak/peppers/onions looked like hell - congealed and greyish. It was a small portion and the taste was bland, just gross. The guacamole is alright. I liked the carne asada soft taco, but perhaps because it was the only item that tasted freshly made in my order. I won't order from this place again.

We get food here fairly frequently and it is pretty good for the most part. My fiancee is Mexican & we live very close so it is our "go to" Mexican. But I am writing this lukewarm review because as a loyal customer I feel that if I ask for "extra chips" (with Pozole soup entree) that should mean more than the usual five chips that is already included with the entree. Nickeling & diming a loyal customer for a few measly tortilla chips is not my idea of a smart business move (this was actually the second time I "special requested" extra chips & the 2nd time said request was ignored).

So disappointing. The WORST nachos I've ever had. I wish I would have taken a photo. The dish was entirely a solid hue of yellow-brown... not one other color! Soggy chips drowning in a gravy of cheese and pieces of chicken. That was it. Tacos were edible.. But far from great.
