I have never written a review..and I hate when people rant - too bad I don't take into consideration when people complain about delivery issues. I don't have a problem when restaurants deliver a bit over their projected delivery time. I'm pretty laid back about that. I ordered from Samantha's at 7:45 PM. At 9:30PM I checked and saw the place had closed. This is not a weekend crush, Wednesday....I called the restaurant and was told the order would be arriving in 5 minutes (honey.) At 10PM, I called Seamless directly. They contacted Samantha's to try to work something out...I guess like a discount or something. Samantha's said no. Nada. Kudos to Seamless for cancelling my order with a full refund. At 10:15 the food arrived and I refused delivery. because Seamless had already credited my account. So 2 1/2 hours. Hungry. Going to bed. I don't think I was being unreasonable.

While the food is generally ok, the last time I ordered from this place it took them over 2 hours to deliver. When I mentioned this to the delivery guy, he made some snarky comment about them making it fresh. On top that, when I called the restaurant to get the status of the order, the phone went straight to voicemail. I had to get a Seamless representative to get in touch with them, and after all the trouble, the restaurant would not even discount the order. I will not be ordering from here again.

I was worried when we put the order in for some much craved soul food we'd be disappointed by having it delivered...we were happy to find they were prompt, our chicken was crispy and moist and the Mac and cheese was delicious. Fries were a bit soggy but the flavoring on them was delicious. Will definitely order again.

Authentic soul food. Love the catfish and the fried chicken. They allow substitutions, which is a bonus. Sometimes they have problems with consistency but this is one of our go-tos on Seamless.

Decent prices but food was ice cold on arrival, small portions, the delivery man looked unprofessional and as if he weren’t having a good day. Other than the quick delivery and the fact that they got my order right there is no reason for me to ever order from that restaurant again.

This is my second time ordering from Samantha's Southern Cuisine and both times they delivered an incomplete order (I had to call the restaurant both times I placed an order to let them know they neglected to include an extra side dish I ordered and paid for). They also failed to include eating utensils and napkins. both times. I will say the delivery time was timely however I don't know if that is because I live within close walking distance. The 1st time we ordered the following 2 entrees: Daddy's Home (fried chicken, mac and cheese, and collard greens) and the Catfish; both entrees were very good. The 2nd time we ordered Crab Cake appetizers, mac and cheese and the entree Daddy's Home; all the dishes this time around were very disappointing. The crab cake appetizer which cost $12 was burnt (some might say EXTREMELY well done) , oily, and about the size of a a very small jewelry ring gift box (picture a very smal ring boxl!!). Everything else was just tasteless and as I previously stated disappointing...definitely not worth $38 dollars I spent on this order.

The fried chicken was good enough, the twice baked mac & cheese was incredible, and the peach cobbler was good. Buffalo shrimp - too much breading. The greens had too much vinegar. Overall, good not great, but when I need a fried chicken fix I'll probably go back.

I want to preface this by saying I am a really picky eater, so fyi. Overall the food is really good, and I have to say I am in love with the collard greens. They aren't too salty or overly seasoned; my partner thought they were a little more bland than he's used to having (still good) but I like being able to taste the greens themselves. On the other hand, I thought the mac and cheese was salty but my partner liked it. It was pretty obvious there was a lot of love put into that mac and cheese... twice baked with cheese on top, and not too mushy! I was disappointed that I only had one piece of chicken with my Daddy's Home dinner, but at the end of the meal I was so full I only had room for a few bites of the Banana Pudding I ordered. The single piece of chicken looked lonely in it's compartment of the to-go container, but it did not feel lonely when it was finally in my stomach. The Banana Pudding, I should add, was SLAMMIN'. Holy crap that Banana Pudding is good, good enough to have a capital B and P in its name. I was going to try to describe it, but you should just get it (unless you don't like bananas). It's a simple, delicious comfort dessert. The food did take about an hour and 45 minutes to arrive (we lost track of time and didn't call until a 1/2 hour past the delivery window), but we ordered on a Sat night and when we called it did sound like the place was packed. Sometimes, the miracle is in the food, not its arrival, and that's just the way it goes (ahem, Banana Pudding!!!). It was also nice that they were genuinely apologetic, which I have to say is pretty rare in nyc no matter how late the food is. The Mr. & I are planning a date night at Samantha's, as the food will probably be even better when it doesn't need to travel in a plastic container. Either way this spot has been added to our list of places to order from. It's pricey for take out, so not every day, but it's a treat for when you need a good dose of comfort food (like your dinner gave you a big hug).

Hands down the best food in the neighborhood! Everything we ordered was delicious. The Daddy's Home combo with the mac and cheese was awesome, the Betty's Buffalo Wings were excellent, and they reheat well. The chicken sandwich was a little dry but the breading was great and bbq sauce helped. The home made fries are amazing and they come with a really great sauce. The food is a little expensive but it is totally worth it. You get plenty of food and none of it goes to waste because it all reheats very well!! The only thing that would make it better is if you could choose the side(s) that comes with the entrees.
