Shanghai Pavilion

I gave Shanghai another chance after my first mediocre experience and was pleasantly surprised. The Chicken With Broccoli was the best I've had of this classic on the Upper East Side. Further, the Bar-B-Q Roast Pork (basically boneless spare ribs) was fantastic!

I've ordered from Shanghai twice since moving to the UES and both times the service has been friendly and quick. The food is very tasty and arrives hot and fresh. I would definitely recommend the sesame chicken and scallion pancakes and will be ordering from the restaurant again! However, if you need utensils and napkins be sure to request them when ordering.

Best Chinese on the UES. I've never eaten in the restaurant, but the delivery is fast, and the food is good. The chicken appears to be pieces of actual chicken meat, not blobs of fatty goo like you get from most Chinese places. I will never order Chinese from another restaurant. If Shanghai Pavillion is closed, I will just order Dominos. Seriously, there is no substitute.

Perfect chinese takeout! I love the chicken and mixed vegetables, and I'm addicted to the hot and sour soup (I always order two or three). I seriously have a problem. The only bad point for me is the delivery service...they usually forget something important like the soup or the rice and then offer to credit you. Um. How does that work for me when I'm starving today??

quite, quite good. Outside of china town, perhaps the best delivery you can find for dumplings and this type of food. My Chinese friend really enjoyed it also.

Best Chinese food in the area... I love their hot & sour soup, their HUGE eggroll's and their food is amazing... Delivery is so fast and they're so nice.

I like the food here. The diet dishes allow you to choose three+ vegetables to include which I really love. All in all, very tasty and fast delivery service.

One of the best Chinese restaurants on the Upper East Side. The Velvet Sea Bass travels surprisingly well, the Red-Cooked Chicken is always tasty, and the Green Tea Chicken is a really unique dish. And best of all, if you're picky, you can create your own dish entirely!

Their pork & pork and crab dumplings are decent. I usually get them delivered, which probably isn't the best way to eat them, but they are still pretty good. I would say when you order them for delivery, 4 of the 6 dumplings are still intact (which is important). The rating should be more like 3 1/2 stars instead of just 3.
