Smorgas Chef

We ordered Smorgas Chef for dinner last night. 20 minutes after we placed our order on SeamlessWeb, they called to tell us they don't deliver to Battery Park.

Received confirmation email from SeamlessWeb with order number. 1 hour after estimated delivery window, called Smorgas Chef, which claimed to have never received my confirmed order. Person handling call was not particularly polite, and completely inept. Restaurant took my number and promised to call back with updated information. Never heard back from them. In turn, will never order from them again. It's a shame, because their food is pretty good. Lesson is, always treat curstomers (particularly ones that have sent in lots of business in the past) with a modicum of decency. BTW, SeamlessWeb cleared up issue within minutes, and cancelled order that Smorgas Chef alleged had never been sent.

DNNever got a confirmation from the restaurant. Seamless had to call me to confirm that I even heard from them. I eventually had to call the place to see what's going on. Called a 2nd time to see what happend to my delivery. Said delivery guy has been out for 30 minutes. Delivery took over an hour and a half from when I placed the order. Still waiting for my order while I type this. Most likely will be cold when it arrives. Even if the food is good, ordering from here will not be worth it for the trouble.

Changing my review. Portion sizes shrank dramatically and service was rude, no longer making this a good deal and more like an abusive ripoff. Tasty as ever, but not worth the cost or the wait. Will order again.

I have eaten in th restaurant many times and the food is great. But, I wouldn't reccommend delivery. They quote between 25-40 minutes, and it usually takes more than an hour, and the food always arrives cold. I would suggest picking up your order yourself

They forgot parts of my order. The portions are small. The bun on my burger was SO HARD you could play soccer with it. OVERPRICED. I will never order from here again.

Forgot part of the delivery, and when I called to fix the error I got attitude from the guy on the other end of the line. The manager was fairly nice though and refunded the order. Sorry to say, I won't be ordering from here again.

Wow, I am so disappointed in this restaurant - I tried to order from here last night, got a confirmation well within their closing time. When I called the restaurant an hour later to see where the order was, the guy was incredibly rude to me! Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

I used to love this place (both eat in and order in) but I will no longer order in - the packaging is horrible (dish cover was not tightly sealed and so imagine what happened!); didn't have half the things I ordered. Further, when I called the restaurant concerning missing items, the staff told me to contact Seamlessweb, as the item that I ordered is not available (rather than asking what alternative choice I have)! I will not order from this place anymore, very sad.
