I think if anyone gives Sophie's less than five stars they are insane!!!!! The only negative thing I have to say is that their customer service is not always the best dine in or out. But the food is worth it, hence the 5 star rating!

Update: Reordered the Oxtail given it was so delish the first time I ordered, and it was not good. What I received wasn't a stew, but more like tough boiled grayish meat that had a terrible smell, so I basically paid $19 for an empanada as the oxtail was inedible. I ordered twice from them and the oxtail was amazing, but the sandwich I think it's supposed to be a Cuban, was so drenched in fat that I couldn't really tell what it was, it just turned into this mass of oil and mush, couldn't eat.

The Cuban sandwich and roast pork are amazing!!! Also, the hot sauce is incredible and everything is affordable! Love this place! So happy I found it!

Sophies is pretty darn good in my opinion. Especially their green hot sauce, delicious to any spice lover. Its one greasy delight you will enjoy.

The first time I ordered from Sophie's it was excellent! When I ordered again yesterday, the order was incorrect (rice and plantains instead of just plantains) and the meat was over dry and couldn't eat some of it.

Coming from Miami, Sophie's of course doesn't stack up... but for a cheap, filling lunch in Midtown, it is far better than all the delis in the area.

I am cutting and pasting the letter I just finished writing to Sophie's : Today our office placed an order with Sophie's Cuban via Seamless Web and we, unfortunately, had a very bad experience with it. When our order arrived, we were missing about 4 or 5 items, so I made a call to the restaurant. The first gentleman I spoke with started arguing with me about whether or not I had even ordered the items. I told him that I had the order confirmation in my hands with the items I had ordered on it. Then, he said that the way I had ordered them was wrong and that he "wasn't going to give them to me for free." I had never asked him that we get them for free, and I told him that, but he continued to argue with me. I told him just to forget about the missing items and just remove them from our charges. Then, after I hung up with him, the manager called me back and argued with me some more about whether or not we had ordered items! I told her I just wanted to make sure we were only charged for items we received and she began to argue with me about what items we had actually received because she "had packed our bag herself." In this economy, I don't know how you can run a restaurant with the attitudes that Sophie's employees displayed to me today. I have always been under the impression that the customer is always right, especially when the customer is placing a large order like I was. I am livid that I had to defend myself to you employees about my order, as if it was my fault that your restaurant could not provide the services that it promised. It was embarrassing and truly disheartening. At the end of the day, I had to settle for an inadequate order and an unappetizing amount of argument, to boot. I hope you will take notice of my email and make some changes to your staff and general attitudes when dealing with customers. I will certainly not be ordering from Sophie's again and can not recommend Sophie's to any else based on this experience.

Sophie's has great food, but the delivery service is poor. We order through Seamless web, and when different people place the order, they do not separate the food per order. Instead, they throw it all in a bag, and people cannot tell apart which food belongs to who. Label the food with the names of the people that ordered next time!!!!! All other seamless web restaurants do the same thing...
