The food here is authentic southern food. If you are expecting something like Hill Country, you will be disappointed. That is not southern barbecue. Soul Fixins is southern barbecue.

So thankful that I found Soul Fixins! Just like being back home in South Carolina.

Good, honest to goodness food. Updated Review: Whilst Soul Fixins still maintains its homestyle cooking, sadly the portions have become bigger and the quality has deminished. Last two occaisions we've ordered from Soul Fixins the food was heavy, greasy and cold. Sadly that may be our last from this restaurant but that's the beauty of NYC - there's so much alternative choice.

It is hard to find good soul food in midtown, but Soul Fixins has you covered. The massive portions and wide variety of offerings make this place a natural choice when you crave some comfort food.

Very disappointed. I've craved some soul food for a while and then finally found this. :( The ribs were undercooked and had no flavor. Not sure where the BBQ sauce went because it was NOT on the ribs. Mostly fat, little meat. I know ribs are fatty but I cook at home, this is cheap meat. The mac& cheese was ok. Not as bad. The corn, flavorless, also. I've had some good soul food. Don't expect the same from a fast food place but this was beyond bad. And my bill was $13.00. I had like 4 short pieces of rib that would make 2 normal size ones.

Can not believe that they categorize this food as "soul" or "southern", which couldn't be farther from the truth. I've ordered from here three times and each time was more disappointing and frustrating than the last. Stouffer's makes better macaroni & cheese and for far less money. The collard greens were wretched and the chicken, tasteless and rubbery. Oh and please don't get me started on the horrible delivery and customer service. Save your time and your money and just DON'T BOTHER!

The food is good for what it is (not REAL soul food) but the delivery is HORRIBLE! I'm officially done with this place. It'll take you 2 hrs to get your food. They call back 30 mins later to tell you they don't have something or the delivery man hasn't shown up for work yet!

Cold!!!!!! Not very good at all. Fried Chicken was cold and soggy. Green beans had no taste. Mac and cheese was just nasty. I asked for a roll, and was sent corn bread instead that was cold and tasteless. The best thing was the potato salad that I couldn't eat because I was so unhappy with everything else. Will not be ordering from here again. No Soul in those Fixins at all.

The spices they use are overpowering, this taste nothing like southern style soul food as I was expecting. The chicken and dumplings didn't have enough dumplings. After hundreds of orders on Seamless this was honestly the worst food I've ever had the displeasure of spending $30 on.

Terrible food, Terribly late, Terribly rude.. Avoid eating here at all costs. You'll find no fixing of souls occurring at this joint. My food was an hour late, looked like it had been slopped in a serving platter by a public school canteen officer / janitor and was thoroughly disappointing to consume. Seamless should have a return policy for allowing the garbage that's served by this place on their website. To top it off, i had the manager of the store yelling at ME because he couldn't find his delivery guy. SELL.

the food was below ok. this place should not have soul anywhere in the title the portions were anorexic, especially for how much it cost. I ordered two plates, they sent one set of plastic ware, and 1 piece of cornbread. the food is already prepared, but it took over 40 min to come 7 blocks. The collard greens were terrible, the macaroni and cheese was neon orange, and they only give you one piece of chicken. do not waste your time

The food is okay but they take at least 45-60 mins to deliver. And about 50% of the time, they call me saying that they have run out of something I have ordered. What bothers me most is that this place has now started charging a $3 delivery fee! No thank you!
