My first order from here was a pleasant surprise from the seemingly endless supply of mediocre Thai joints in the area. Good size portions, fast delivery and tasty dish indeed. Having been to Thailand and even studied Thai cooking there, I am kinda hard to impress with what is offered here in Williamsburg. Sugar Beets Thai seemed to be the closest to any attempt at authentic Thai food outside of Chinatown in NYC. (which is still nothing compared to what you can get at the night market in Chaing Mai) I ordered the crispy duck pad thai and it was delicious, prepared just right, not greasy, not dried out and bland like many of the other let downs in the 'hood. And the portion was enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day. My second order the following week was also on par. I thought, "at last, a decent Thai place to order in from" but then my third and fourth orders were a let down. I ordered beef pad thai, the noodles were over cooked, all kinda chopped up and overall very bland. Perhaps it was an off night for the cook? I tried one more time and ordered another dishes (curry noodle soup) along with pad thai and they were okay but not as good as first two orders. I will continue to order from here, give them another chance, so to speak. But I am a bit weary.... Delivery was prompt and everything arrived nice and hot.

My boyfriend and I live very close to Sugar Beets Thai and order from them frequently. We joke that we are keeping them in business because whenever we walk by the place there are no customers inside. Regardless, the food is delicious and always fresh. The delivery is VERY quick. I usually get the hot and sour noodle soup (which is very filling on its own), and my boyfriend gets Pad Thai Noodles. I can also vouch for the steamed vegetable dumplings and the fresh summer rolls. Highly recommend!

TERRIBLE service!! I ordered vegetarian pad thai with NO EGG. The order arrived and the copy I signed clearly had NO EGG underlined. The container that the pad thai was in said NO EGG on it yet when i opened it up there was plenty of egg mixed in. I called and they preceded to tell me the chef was 100% sure that they did not put egg in it. After listening to them bicker about whether or not there was egg in my pad thai the woman from Sugar Beets said that the delivery guy would have to come back and pick up my pad thai, take it back to the restaurant to check and then, only if they agreed there was egg in it, I could be sent a fresh pad thai. Sure enough, 20 minutes later the delivery man showed up with a new receipt that did not say NO EGG (they obviously re-printed it to try to trick me) which he showed me as I showed him the egg in my food and the fact that the lid said NO EGG. 10 minutes later ( I HAVE NO IDEA HOW HE WAS BACK SO FAST!) he reappeared with cold pad thai that did not look fresh and had no sprouts or lime wedge like usual, however there was NO EGG in this pad thai. I had to microwave it and hope that it was not filled with spit and was not someone elses leftovers. They did not offer anything as an apology. She did call to make sure I received the eggless pad thai and was satisfied and she giggled when I said I would never be ordering from them again. Moral of the story: Sugar Beets workers are sneaky and inconsiderate. They do not own up to their mistakes although they may correct your order and send it to you cold.

I've tried various dishes from Sugar Beets, and they have all been OK at best. Not impressive but fine if you need Thai. My go to order is the Red or Green Curry with Chicken which is good but not enough vegetables in my opinion.

I have now been waiting for my food for 1 hour and 45 minutes (seamless quoted a wait time of 35-50 minutes)...and it is still not here. I have tried calling the restaurant directly multiple times, and no one is answering. I am hungry and will never order from this place again. I urge you to order from a different thai restaurant next time around.

This food is amazing - it's not like the usual bland American Thai you get in Williamsburg. This is the real deal and is spicy and tasty! I've ordered three times and it's always fast and delicious. YUM.

Very inconsistent. Sometimes the food is delicious and delivered instantly. I've had a few unequivocally bad meals, but usually the dishes are quite good. However, I'm writing a review right now because I'm still waiting for the order I placed 90 minutes ago. If you're really hungry, don't order from Sugar Beets, because they might screw you.

Sugar Beets is consistent and fresh. I order from here pretty often and I have always been pleased. Favorites are the basil chicken and spicy tofu and string beans. The spicy lime salad dressing (very spicy) pairs so well with the crisp lettuce of the thai salad.

One of the better Thai options in Williamsburg. Fast delivery, quality ingredients, ample portions, and competitive pricing.
