Sumo Sushi

I order from Sumo sushi fairly frequently, and it is (almost) always a hit -- fresh fish, inventive rolls, interesting sauces, polite delivery people. But, lately, delivery has just taken SO LONG. Last time my food took about 1.5 h to arrive, and today I just now got my food, about 40 minutes past the "future delivery" time I scheduled a couple of hours ago. Overall I'd still say Sumo is a great place to order sushi delivery, however. I absolutely love their Fusion roll, and the Mango Tango. And out of the "everyday" rolls, the yellowtail crunch is pretty unique (it has apples! I love the combination of fruit and fresh fish). If you're ordering around lunch time, their 3 roll "happy lunch" with miso soup can't be beat at $10.95. Note: i just paused to have a bite of the Fusion roll I just got -- I forgive you, Sumo Sushi. You can pretty much be as late as you want if this deliciously buttery fish eventually ends up in my mouth, dancing around with some creamy and spicy mango sauce. Heaven.

Easily one of the best delivery sushi places in Philadelphia. I order from them all of the time. Very speedy in their delivery. One night they delivered my food in less than 15 minutes!

It's a shame because they're so close to my house, I'd love to give them repeat business. However, very poor sushi. I like simple rolls that aren't drowned in sauce. (Let quality fish speak for itself) What I got was ragged maki, falling apart... The rice was an abomination. Looked like plain long grain white rice, no flavor, no hint of mirin, no sticky texture. The fish was sinewy and off in color. I couldn't eat it.

Decent sushi, always dependable. I always get the Nigiri Maki plate, so can't attest to the other rolls but this is by far the best sushi delivery I have found in the city.

The rolls were huge! I got the vegetarian, sweet potato, avocado and a california roll. Everything was delicious and they delivered in the advertised time frame. All you can ask for in a sushi restaurant.

Sumo is my favorite sushi in the city, hands-down. It's also the quickest delivery. The Pine Street roll is a definite must-get. Yum!

Food is okay, but service is TERRIBLE. The final time I ordered, it took 2 and a half hours for my order to be delivered and corrected. I received a very plain apology with no offer to correct the poor service. There are other sushi places in Center City where you can find actual customer service.
