Tastes more like Californian Mexican than most places in NYC, which is great. Cheap and fast as well. The meat could be higher quality but what do you want for a couple bucks? Highly recommend the chicken fajita soft taco with guac.

I don't normally feel compelled to write reviews for the site, but there's always a tipping point. I've somehow been ordering from Taco Grill for quite a while now, perhaps over two dozen times over the course of two years, every time hoping for something good and getting really disappointed, only to let a month pass and I inexplicably do it again hoping for a different result or to be pleasantly surprised. . but that never happens. First of all, I think its worth mentioning that I am a native Californian who believes I know Mexican food and certainly good tacos and burritos. Theres a wide range of what can be authentic, quality, and even innovative but still relying on a basic understanding of the origins of the cuisine. This place, to be as mild and blunt as possible, isn't serving Mexican food, but rather a Chinese / New York interpretation of what people think Mexican food should be. Its really bizarre in that regard. I think they used be be well regarded, but a few years ago changed ownership, the menu, and all the ways things are done but kept the name. That said, the food is okay if you know that going into it, I mean I've never gotten sick and it is edible, but be warned, they do not know what they are doing all that well. For example, they do not know how to properly fold a tortilla into a burrito...effectively what you get is a loose aluminum foil dependent membrane surrounding an improperly distributed set of ingredients. one bite is all rice, the next all bites are all over cooked chicken or steak, and so on. The guacamole is watered down, the cream cheese is more like mayo and the spicy hot sauce is a complete mystery to me. I wish I could say it was a mole, or tapatio, cholula, or any of the amazing arrays of standard issue hot sauces out there.... but I dont know what that stuff is. The tacos are no different, from there chicken "stew" tacos to there chorizo tacos, there is a common reaction I have which is that everything is simply tryin

I always really enjoy the chicken and steak fajita tacos. The spinach taco is literally spinach in a soft tortilla. It's not bad, just very very salty.

Amanda didn't like the burritos so much. Mike thought the tacos were pretty good.

A decent taco, with a nice hot tortilla soup (it's a broth based, so it could be a great sick-day soup). However, wasn't too happy that the delivery man asked me for a larger tip at the door.

Some of the food is great - like the stewed chicken soft tacos (very tender), and everything is very reasonably priced with fast delivery. I think the guac is from a pre-mix, which si a little disappointing, but I guess given the price level not surprising. The side of balck beans is always a big hit

Decent... large portions, fast delivery. Good steak items, but disappointed in the grilled chicken. Guac is good, and tex-mex quesadilla is tasty.

Outstanding in terms of freshness and quality of ingredients, much healthier than the typical Mexican fare of beans and cheese. I could live on this food! The soft tacos are constantly baked fresh and often arrive warm. Especially love the grilled chicken taco. I've been ordering at least once per week from Taco Grill for two years and have yet to be disappointed.

horrible food. all dark meat chicken. soggy hard shell tacos - worse than those out of a box. guacamole tastes like stale cumin powder and oil. took almost 45 minutes to come across the street.

I am never disappointed with the quality of food or speed of service from Taco Grill. The fresh tortillas are fantastic - they smack of fresh tortillas I've had just north of the border in parts of Texas. The chicken can be dry at times, but the carne asada and ground beef are phenomenal. While the general fare does well, don't expect the enchillada's to be anything more than meat and cheese stuffed between to fresh tortillas. Its good for a fix, but not the best Tex Mex you can find.
