The taj Karahi specialties are really excellent. Mixed appetizers too!

I order from these guys several time a month, and I must say this place has never, NEVER once disappointed me. The food is fantastic, fresh, always arrives hot...just DELICIOUS. There are really only two choices for Indian food in East Williamsburg/Bushwick and this is THE ONE. Delivery is fairly quick...don't sleep on Taj!

I'm so glad I finally found and Indian restaurant in this area that is as delicious and SPICY as the restaurants in Jackson Heights! Most Indian restaurants I have eaten at around this area are all bland, "Americanized" versions of Indian food. Taj has delicious Kheema and Vindaloo, just like my mother used to make! Fantastic! UPDATED REVIEW: Sadly, they seem to have changed some of their recipes. I've ordered from them twice already, and the food no longer has any flavor. The vindaloo is not nearly spicy enough, like it used to be. I hope a bunch of "bland palettes" didn't ruin the original by calling and complaining how it was too spicy (Sadly thats always what happens to the Indian food when the caucasian crowd moves in)

Pretty good indian. Best ive had so far living in this neighborhood. Not as good as the indian i used to get in manhattan but still pretty good. Id give it 4 stars but i was kinda disappointed to see that one order of nan only contained one piece of nan (every other indian place ive been to gives 2 pieces of nan per order). Besides all that though, the delivery was prompt and the guy delivering the food was polite, the food was good, and i will keep ordering from Taj Kabab and Curry.

I love Indian food but Taj Kabab & Curry didn't do it for me. First the good: really nice naan and tasty lamb samosas. But the daal showed up looking like cream of wheat and tasting a bit like it too. Butter chicken dotted with cashews had almost no flavor at all. My quest for good Indian food in Williamsburg continues.

We have ordered from Taj Kebab multiple times and I was ready to sing of their praises until tonight. Their complete disregard for customer service has ensured that I will NEVER order from here again. 1. The Chicken Vindaloo was INEDIBLE tonight because it was ridiculously spicy. (We've ordered this dish before and we normally don't have any problems.) The guy on the phone simply responded that everyone says the same thing and it's just how it is. WHAT? I just told you that it's inedible. We threw it out after 3-4 bites. 2. He handed off the phone to his manager when I told him that I also found a piece of paper in my rice. His manager mumbled something about how it probably got in there when they were packing up the food and to remind him next time we ordered. He then said thanks and hung up on me. ARE YOU SERIOUS? I would rather not eat than order from this place.

The food at Taj Kabab & Curry is reasonably priced, tasty, and comes with friendly service! The Papadum are super fresh and come with tasty accompaniments. The Muligutawny soup is savory and arrives piping hot--perfect for those who are ordering-in because they're sick or avoiding venturing out into the cold. For a main course, the Chana Shag is one of my favorites and the Bhindi Masala is also a great option for those who like okra.

I like the food but I've just had the worst delivery experience. I ordered on seamlessweb but didn't get an email confirmation. So I called and had a hard time speaking with the guy at the restaurant. Called again, at this point an hour after I ordered, and the guy assured me that the delivery guy was on his way. 5 minutes later I get my delivery. But there's no rice! I call back and ask for the rice and the guy says 10 minutes. I call back half an hour later and they have no idea what's going on. I keep getting hung up on and having to call back! It's now 2 hours after I initially placed the order and hopefully there is rice on its way! I really want to like this place. The food is good and I haven't had trouble before. Maybe whoever is on shift on Mondays during lunchtime just does not have it together. Get it together Taj Kabab!

Lots of good reviews, so I won't feel bad about reviewing it at 3 stars! Ha! Ordered a few times from here. The first time was actually quite nice, but the latest time, I ordered a tomato soup, which was a bit on the bland side of life and the chicken tikka masala, which also was not a festival of flavours!! No fireworks flew out of my mouth to paint a kaleidoscope of sensorial explatolations (this word makes no sense if you try and understand it syntactically. It's merely a sound to play in one's head.) unfortunately! A word to the wise, the rice is not as fun as being boosted into space, so, I would make your own rice quickly on the side and turn down the one they send; you know, no need to waste ... though you could use it in a salad the next day, or something like this. The food came quite quickly, which was appreciated by the negative space in my stomach. It clapped as the food bubbled its way to me!! It was just like Spring Break! Woo! 2004!!! Woo! "Up here Michael, up here!" Hmm ... what else? Well, yeah ... that's it! It's definitely a nice place to order from, especially in Greenpoint where one's options can feel a little bit like living with Kevin Costner in Water World ... I would not turn it down, but if you're a little b****h about food, like a lot of people in the city so fast it doesn't sleep (but takes a lot of naps), then a 3 star rating I find to be fair! Over and out.

Ordered Vindaloo during lunchtime. I'd say it was the best curry I've had this side of the East River.

The condiments (relish, green sauce, etc.. which are all bad...) spilled all over the bag. This is something I usually ignore because it seems hard to prevent but.. this is the 3rd time it's happened (4th time ordering from here)! That was enough for me to switch back to my old Indian go-to delivery. The food: okra side dish is good if you like okra. Chana Shag is ok but way too oily. Every main dish I've ever gotten here is way too oily. Banana Lassi was good. Their rice is good too, very oily but good.

Quick delivery and good portion size. Though I was a little surprised that the $2.95 order of naan was only one piece of naan.
