I don't remember how it was as Banana Leaf, but we ate dinner here on Easter Sunday and it was the best Indian food I've had in this neighborhood.

Tamba has been my go-to Indian take out restaurant for the last 3 years. I am a big spicy food person and love their Chicken Vindaloo. Also recently tried the Dal Tadka last week which was also delicious and had a nice kick to it. The samosas are a must - and ask for extra green sauce that comes with it. My only comment is that while I'm a big fan of garlic naan, I find $4.95 way too expensive for any piece of bread so I usually opt for the regular naan. Sometimes delivery takes a little on the long side - around 45 min or so - but definitely worth the wait!

Dad to say, the quality of Banana Leaf has gone down, WAY down. Although the service is fast and the delivery people courteous, our last two orders were awful. Butter chicken, once a creamy, silky yummy delight is now still serviceable tandoori chicken breast, but in a greasy, separated sauce that is more like a bad tikka masala. The keema samoas were reconstituted from packaged frozen rather than the fresh tasty appetizers they used to be. To add insult to injury, they were overfried almost to the point of burnt. Sad, sad. I didn't write this review until we chalked one order up to a one off miss, but tonight's delivery confirms it.

Banana Leaf is excellent!!!! Very flavorful classic Indian food, but without the oil and rich butter that most restaurants gratuitiously add

I really like this place! Their food is great, the service is good and they never deliver my food cold or late! Yes, they have done mistakes but they are human! Shit happens! Last time I ordered from them I asked for a coke. They were out of coke so they called and asked me if I would have a diet coke instead. I don't like diet sodas so I said no, thank you and told them they could take the $2.50 as extra tip. When the delivery guy showed up on my doorstep he told me that he was sorry for being a bit late (which he was not!) and said it was because he had stopped by a deli on the way and bought me a coke! That is what I call gooood costumer service!

These guys are terrible. I ordered dinner over 1.30 minutes ago and it has not yet arrived. I suspect the food would be very cold when it does. I did call and the guy was completely incompetent and did not apologize. Pathetic.

Sauce was perfectly spiced and breads delicious. The second time I ordered the chicken was very overcooked -- however my first order the meat was perfect. So I will order again and hope this second round was just a fluke!!

This restaurant is only located 3 blocks north and 2 blocks west from where i am located. The approximate 55 minute went over by about 20 minutes. When i called to inquire when the food would be delivered, i was told that my location was very far and no one wanted to deliver here for a $2 tip. The tip i placed on my order was actually $3.75 (20%), with the intention to give another $2 when the order arrived (and i still did despite the late delivery). The food had to be reheated as it was cold when it arrived... not just "slightly warm", but cold. Other than that whole experience, the food wasn't that bad.

It's been over 2 hours since I ordered my food and it's still not here. I called 30 minutes ago and the guy on the phone told me it would be here in 5 minutes. I called again just now and he said that it left 5 minutes ago. Which is it? I'm about to call Seamless and ask for a refund - I'm leaving the office to go home. This is absolutely ridiculous.

The food actually is pretty good, but never have I been scolded by a delivery person. I consistently tip generously and I really wish I could have revoked the tip this time around. Even after signing the paper, he was free to leave, but no, the delivery guy continued to scold me for not being home, even though I have a doorman. The delivery window says 40-55 minutes and I agree with other raters in saying that it take MUCH longer than that usually. He has to be a pretty pathetic guy.

Very poor service. Promised delivery is 45 to 55 min but after almost2 hours it was still not delivered and I decided to cancel the order. When I called the restaurant, I was assured that the food would be delivered in 10 mins. After 30 minutes, still not delivered and the restaurant stopped answering their phone. Very unprofessional.

Very slow delivery. Only one set of utensils / plates. Curry is more sauce than meat or vegetables.

Based on the reviews for this place, I had much higher expectations. Portions were terribly small, food arrived cold (and late), and prices were not reasonable. For $40, I would expect that most NYC restaurants could adequately feed two people with some leftovers, which was not the case. Much better values for Indian restaurants elsewhere. Will not order from here again.
