Tanaka

Tanaka is consistently fast, tasty and fresh. They also include a free banana and a free california roll with orders over $20, which is always a plus. It's a staple at my office for Japanese!

Best delivery sushi in midtown. I am a sushi lover and have tried every sushi place in the area and tanaka offers the best. Have been ordering from tanaka for years and it has consistently always been excellent. I highly recommend. Fresh fish

When I order from SW, it's usually because it's late (my firm has a cafeteria but it closes early), so I not only choose a place because of its reputation/rating but also based on the shortest estimated delivery time. Tanaka showed (both online and in the confirmation email) a delivery time of 15-30 minutes. It took an HOUR to get to me. The sushi isn't bad but definitely not good enough to wait an hour. The only reason I even give them 2 stars is that I got a california roll and a banana free with my order . But if they get a next time, they should really keep the extra roll and concentrate on delivering the order on time.

I love Tanaka! I have eaten at a LOT of Japanese restaurants around Manhattan, and this is definitely one of my midtown favorites. Prices are reasonable, and sushi is fresh and tasty. They also include a free california roll and a free banana with every order over $20. The rock fish is also amazing! I always order delivery, but stopped by the restaurant once and it is a rather small place, so not sure if I would go here often to eat in the restaurant. But the food is great!

Love, love, LOVE Tanaka! Can't go wrong with this place...a safe bet if you are in the sushi mood! Very timely delviery also! While I usually order the 3-sushi roll combo for lunch...I resorted to my weekend favorites. Super prompt delivery (ALWAYS) and the sushi is always fresh and delicious. I dont even bother looking at other Sushi place menus - Tanaka is my go-to because it is a safe bet! 4/8/2011 - NOT HAPPY AT ALL. Tanaka has failed me. They brought me the incorrect order. The rolls are significantly smaller than usual AND on top of it, it doesnt taste as fresh. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

I have both eaten at the restaurant and ordered take out from Tanaka numerous times. The food is excellent. I particularly enjoy the Yasai Goyza appetizer (steamed vegetable dumpling) and the chicken teryaki in addition to the sushi. When ordering delivery, the food has always come within 15-20 minutes even in the height of the dinner hour. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys sushi and Japanese cuisine.

I have tried to find good sushi delivery ALL over this city - uptown, downtown, chelsea, etc AND FINALLY two years later I find Tanaka. Its superior quality/fresh sushi, fantastic prices and consistent (except Sunday, but that is what I get for ordering sushi on Sunday). Only sushi I will order delivery from.

Delivery guy was EXTREMELY rude and the Hibatchi steak and shrimp was over cooked with a greasy flavor. Tanaka used to be so good, VERY disappointed. Will recommend or order from again.

2 friends have separately gotten food poisoning from this place. It's too bad, because I had always liked them and now we'll never order from them again. Beware.

Food is OK but the delivery guy asked for more money as a tip when we had given the estimated seamless amount. He was really aggressive.

I order from these guys regularly. Delivery is quick and the fish is by far the freshest I've been able to find on seamless. The fried gyoza, uni, salmon and yellowtail are in particular always great.

I ordered food from here for the first time tonight because my regular sushi place was closed. The sushi was great. Clean, fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced. Delivery was quick and they gave us two California rolls and a banana for free because our purchase was over $35. Definitely going to order from here again.
