Neighborhood place the deserves our support. Managers are nice people when you are in the restaurant. Fast, high quality takeout. The other places with higher ratings (in a Valley) are not as good a value. It delivers what you expect.

Arrived in 20 minutes, nice and hot. It's my 3rd attempt to find good Indian take-out in my new neighborhood and it's a winner! Got a couple of the chicken lunch deals - great portion size if you're hungry, moist meat, tons of extra sauce for slopping up with the included rice & full-size naan.

Delicious food, quick delivery. Love the order options (mild, medium, spicy) because they use the appropriate ingredient to kick up the heat instead of just dumping in chili oil.

Yum! Pleasantly surprised by the food here. Naan comes hot. Large portions allow for leftovers or sharing. Medium is the just the right amount of spicy. Less impressed with the veggie samosas - a little greasy, needs a crispier outside and spicier inside. Delivery is fast and doesn't keep you waiting forever. Priced right.

my food was hot and promptly delivered, which was good and the chicken was fresh. but, like others have mentioned, the curry dishes are mostly sauce. and the korma was pretty flavorless and seemed to have been thickened with too much flour. There were not vegetables at all or the usual extras in korma.

"Tandoori vegetables specialty" was kind of cold, portion was small, and generally not so great. Would recommend elsewhere.

There was a lot of sauce, but not a lot of meat. The sauce was really good; but when I opened the plastic tupperware that was supposed to encompass my main entree, there was maybe five or six cubes of meat to what seemed like several cups of sauce/broth. Don't get me wrong, the broth/sauce over the rice was awesome, I guess I just expected either bigger chunks of meat, or more meat chunks. In conclusion, good food, bad portions... The other entree was decent.

This is by far the best of Indian food on the UWS. The nan is always fresh and warm when delivered. I usually order the palak paneer, and mutter paneer (both excelent vegetarian meals). Split between myself and my husband, I always have enough for the following day's lunch.

I actually like the food here - this review, however, is for their customer service which has been horrible. For some of their lunch specials (the fast boxes) Seamlessweb specifies that you need to call them up and ask what the daily options are. If I like the options, then I order through Seamlessweb. The man who usually answers the phone doesn't seem to understand this. He usually just says "whatever you like," which is true for the regular lunch special, but not the "fast box" special. When I tried to explain this, he yelled at me and hung up. Today, I tried calling up again to ask, and he immediately started yelling at me "how many times do you need to ask?" Look, if I actually get a straight answer and I like the options, I place my order online. If I don't like any of the options, I think it's totally normal not to order at all. I guess, my answer to him now would be "not any more."

We ordered lamb korma and it was bad. The sauce was very watered down and tasteless and the lamb was a bit gamey.

Ok, so before i rant/rave, let me be postive... the food was warm and delivered in a timely manner and they gave plastic wear/napkins... which other restaurants don't. Ok, so that's about it for positives...sad, but true. I am indian (american born) so i am well versed in critiquing indian food and even have a separate scale for americanized indian food...that being said, i don't have high hopes like food will taste like my mom's or from india, but still it should have flavor and spice... it's indian food afterall. This is the worst indian food i think i've ever had. the Malai kofta tasted like chalk and is suppose to be in a gravy... not a watered down soup... the consistency of the kofta balls were terrible which didn't add to the chalky taste. No flavor, really, i even asked for Medium-spicy... crazy bland with zero flavor. the Raita... good flavor, but watery... i know we are in a recession, but no need to water down everything The lacha paratha... suppose to be flaky paratha, which i've had several places (pongal has a great one and the place that replaced masala garden has a decent one as well... also on UWS). but this one was sorta doughy, at least it was a big portion. the Paneer Tikka was actually decent, and if i liked anything else on the menu, i would order that again as it is a rarity on a menu... (if lives up to my american standard of indian food)... to add insult to injury the delivery guy didn't have a pen... why not, not sure... seamless web is on a credit card and you have to sign, so it took me a while to find one... ridiculous. i guess my quest for somewhat decent, preferibly good, indian food on the UWS will continue on, but no luck in over 2 years... i guess i'll continue trekking to CURRY (aka murray) HILL for GOOD indian food. seriously, how hard can it be... there is no shortage of indians in the world or new york city (i'm one)... can't they find decent cooks outside of curry hill?
