Good food, but we will never order a delivery from this place again. The delivery service is absolutely inadequate . It took us 1h45 min to get the delivery on a Friday night (first it took the restaurant 20 mins to pick up the Seamless order, then 1h25 min for delivery) but we had decided to give Tawa another chance because the food is good and prices are reasonable. The second time the delivery took exactly 1h55 min instead of the promised 1h15min. I am wondering how long my food has been driven around STamford. Not ordering from there again unless I plan my dinner around my lunchtime

Saag was good while the rice was ordinary. I would recommend this restaurant again

Beware - Most Rude Delivery Guy Ever Encountered - We eat in at this restaurant often, we like the food, and everyone is friendly. I placed an order and got a call from the delivery guy who was wandering around the dry cleaners next door and who proceeded to berate me from not giving him clear directions (so much for writing those in the "special instructions" box with my order. He was really incensed and didn't seem capable of engaging in civilized communication, and when I walked over to meet him, he basically called me an idiot and accused me of giving him the wrong address, speaking over me and raising his voice. I honestly don't think he read the instructions I wrote when i submitted my Seamless order - and he didn't even seem to know what Seamless is. I was alone and, being quite smaller than him (and female), felt threatened by his demeanor, so I backed off, but not before telling him Tawa just lost a long-time customer. He lost it at that point, told me he didn't care, and yelled after me as I quickly walked back to my apartment, but thankfully he didn't follow me. Bottom line: That guy is unfit to interact with customers! The incident had me shaken up and it took me a while before I could eat - and then I realized the restaurant had mixed up my order. All in all, a headache and a shame. Never again, and I will be telling friends and neighbors to avoid getting delivery from here.

This is the worst Indian food I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of it. After ordering from them twice this week, i believe the "chef" would be well served by looking up some recipes on the internet. The phaal (1st order) was completely inedible. While phaal should be made with green chilies, this was basically a thick paste of crushed red pepper, black pepper and god knows what else. My seond order, a so-called vindaloo, was essentially day-glo red shrimp in a day-glo red sauce - it took tasting it to see that all they had done was to add water to tandoor shrimp and throw in two slices of potato to call this a vindaloo, so it wasn't even spicy and certainly didn't include any vinegar or tanginess. Extremely dissapointing! While neither of these is a true Indian dish (the former being an English concoction and the latter from Goa but influenced by Portuguese cooking), they shouldn't put them on the menu unless they know how to cook them! The lemon rice I ordered specially was okay, but had a lot of rock-hard nuts or seeds of indeterminate origin which made it unpleasant to eat. The poppadums were soggy. The only items that were good were the plain naan, the spinach & cheese stuffed naan and the white rice. I had eaten at the restaurant before and had a much better experience, but perhaps management or the cooks have changed? Regardless, I will never order from Tawa again.
