Thai Spice (Polk St)

Good food, but the wait is terrible. We have been waiting for 2 hours for our food. We have called the restaurant twice. The first time we called was after an hour and they said the food was already on its way. 30 minutes later it had still not arrived. When we called the second time they said it had not even been sent out yet. Very frustrating when you are hungry. On the phone with them now, but not receiving much help.

Love everything here especially the pad Thai and curry! Tried the prawns this time and they were amazing too!

Never had a delivery guy yell at me before. He began the call upon arrival at the apartment building with a threat to leave and charge us a cancellation fee if we did not get downstairs and pick the food up immediately ourselves. Incredulous, we asked that he please ring the front door and deliver to our apartment on the 5th floor, unable to believe that a food delivery person would refuse to deliver to the door. He refused, restated for us to come downstairs, then also insisted that the single bag of food being delivered deserved a much higher tip than what we charged to the card. Needless to say, after going downstairs ourselves, and him nearly refusing to hand over the prepaid food altogether, there was no additional tip in cash to go along with what had already been paid. The delivery guy's instruction to pay more tip next time was answered with a you-must-be-crazy-to-think-there's-going-to-be-a-n ext-time. The food is nothing special, took 85 minutes, and overpriced ($10 appetizer?), and most definitely not worth that kind of abuse. Upon calling the restaurant, they said they would investigate. That was over a week ago. Wow.

They were fast (er) this time. It only took about 30 minutes to get food. huge improvement. The food was alright, not great, but not the worst. But they forgot one of my drinks.

Basil tofu was actually quite good. Tom Ka soup with shrimp was just OK. Order arrived quickly. They phoned me to confirm quickly after I placed the order. Would order again.

Second Order (1-star): Delivery was 30 minutes late. Placed order at 7pm on Sunday. After several calls, food arrived ICE COLD. Terrible. Absolutely would NOT recommend now that I have been disappointed twice. First Order (3-stars): Thai Spice's Rolls were great but the Pad Thai was average at best. Would try again - would recommend with caution.
