Tiffin Wallah

The food was very good but unfortunately a crucial misstep was made regarding instructions to our office's order. By default, any good restaurant will label the dishes when packaging a large takeout order. However, being extra careful, we made sure to indicate this in the notes so we could avoid the utter confusion of sorting between the 26 different items which composed our separate meals. Unfortunately, Tiffin Wallah apparently did not find the need to do this therefore causing the very chaos we intended to avoid. As a result, several meals were not received by the intended recipients and much time was wasted before any actual eating could begin. Word of advice if you are ordering from here: CALL WITH ANY SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS (that is, if anyone answers their forever ringing line)...

Really authentic! Great chapati and chana masala. I love how the dishes are served with lemon and raw onion, just like in India! I ordered the Tiffin Wallah Thali and it was huuuge. Fresh, hot, flavorful food and it came spicy like I requested. I would definitely order from here again.

Tiffin Wallah never ceases to amaze me. The food is always fresh and delicious and the spices are perfectly balanced and come in perfect portions. My favorite Indian food in NYC.

I love everything on the menu here because it's simple and delicious. I love the dosas and idli here because the chutney and sambar is perfect. In all, it is an authentic experience for southindian food and truly delivers on all the "tiffin" items.

I had placed an order for the lunch special through seamless. I received a call from Tiffinwallah shortly after, where the person who called me starts the conversation by asking me in a very rude manner "what time is it?". I was confused and the person again repeated that question to me. He then proceeded to tell me that it was 5 o' clock and that I should not be ordering the lunch buffet at that time. He was so condescending and rude. It was absolutely ridiculous! My first issue is that they should clearly indicated on Seamless that certain items are only available during certain hours. My second issue is that instead of handling the situation with grace, the person at Tiffinwallah called me to chew me out for placing the order after hours. This was my favorite south Indian restaurant and I have been eating here for years. I will not be ordering from here again. Truly disappointing.

This used to be my favorite restaurant, but the delivery service is terrible. I had placed an order for an item that was listed on the menu here in Seamless. However, the restaurant calls me to tell me that the item is only available during certain hours (why list it on seamless for the whole day??). The person that I spoke with was rude and unable to cancel the order. I had to send an email to the Seamless help desk to get it resolved.

This used to be my favorite restaurant on Curry Hill. But the last several times we have ordered, even though I specify that the food should be spicy, they couldn't be bothered to follow the instructions. I don't know what happened here, but we've given them several chances thinking they had an off night, but apparently the whole place is now "off." Get it together guys!

Rude. They called me after I placed my order and told me they didn't deliver to my address. Then they didn't know how to cancel the order. Completely unhelpful and ungracious.

i ordered the Malai Kofta and an order of chapati. it took over an hour to deliver, the food arrived lukewarm, and it wasnt so great! the sauce for the malai kofta was pretty salty. the rice was good? LOL it got such good ratings i would try again but not for a while

Incredible dosas, just as good as homemade with none of the hassle - highly recommended!. The coconut chutney that comes with the dosas is a little odd - I suggest ordering the dosa podi instead. It's spicy, but not uncomfortably so. One dosa lasts me for at least 2 meals, which makes this place an excellent value as well. Furthermore, delivery is always prompt and friendly. This place can't get any better.

This place was a disaster. The truth is that it estimated a 50 minute wait time and after an hour and a half the food still wasn't here. We canceled the order just before it arrived almost two hours later. Never again.

Chana Saag is amazing. Basmati rice is always fresh and fluffy. Decent delivery times.
