Toloache

Used to love Toloache - the food is fresh and tasty. However, Toloache has always been overpriced, and the prices have recently risen. The portion sizes are small but certainly enough food, but I cannot justify paying $15 for a lunch of tortilla soup and rice and beans. It's too bad, I miss ordering food from Toloache.

I am from Mexico City and I can tell you that I absolutely adore this restaurant, the food is amazing every single time, the menu is very authentic and the people who work there are very nice, specially Victor the manager. I am so happy I found Toloache!!!!!!!! FINALLY REAL MEXICAN FOOD IN THE USA!!!!!!! My favorites: Guacamole Rojo, Enchiladas De Pollo or Enchiladas de Mole (they don't have them on the menu but they are amazing!!) and Watermelon Margarita with chile instead of salt.

Great food but terrible delivery service. Ordered food at 5:44pm to be delivered at 6:45pm. Called at 7:15pm - the lady on the phone told me that the food was sent a few minutes ago. Called again at 7:40pm. The same lady talked to me, gave the phone to someone else, who told me that their system was broken. Then he gave the phone to a 3rd person who told me that they never received the order. Told me they would send the food right away. Then the gentleman called again and tried to convince me that they brought the food before but I did not pick up the phone (I was at my desk the whole time). I have been to Toloache before, and would I go there again? Yes, their food is delicious. Would I ever order from Toloache through SeamlessWeb? Not a chance!

Food was good but our order was over 40 minutes late (hour and a half total). They told us the food was delivered to the wrong address and they were remaking it but they very obviously just gave us the original order (even the food at the bottom of the bag was room temperature).

Pollo Tacos and an order of rice and black beans = $21. What you really get... two tiny tacos, one container of rice and one container of beans. The tacos are very, very delicious & surprisingly filling. I was disappointed at the amount of rice/beans delivered for $6. That's the cheapest thing they could ever provide and feel they should have given more. The delivery to Rockefeller Center was much faster than initially promised - less than 20 minutes on a Sunday. Overall, I am pleased. My stomach is happy. I'd order again. But I don't feel I got my money's worth.

New review: While the food is still the same, the recently increased prices make this restaurant prohibitively expensive. Example: 2 taco dishes (which come with a total of 4 relatively small tacos) now cost $30 with tax and tip. I can't afford to pay $30 for what basically constitutes as a snack. Unfortunately I will not be ordering from here through seamless anymore until the prices go back to where they were. Previous review: Some of the most delicious tacos I've ever had. Only thing better than their tacos is their service. One time my order came messy, and when I called them about it, the manager sent a new order right away and gave me a free dessert and drinks. Excellent all around.

Extremely small portions and misleading descriptions. For example the "platos fuertes" (main dishes, literally "strong plates") are so small they wouldn't feed a mouse. And the food is a bizarre fusion style anyway, so what little you do get doesn't even taste very good. Do not order!

Expensive for the quality on delivery. Burrito was not much better than Burrito Box but about twice the price. Guacamole a rip off although was nice.

Prompt delivery, good food. I had the braised beef burrito, and it was awesome!!!! The avocado fries were nothing to be excited about, but still a good Mexican find. The prices could come down a little though.

I order the soup all the time. Love how I got about half as much as I usually do. Even with the add-ins, the container is only about half full. For $7???

Their "standard" delivery time is one hour. Then they left my food with lobby security, gave them the wrong name and extension, and it sat there for 45 minutes. Food's decent but not worth the wait.

food is good, but both times I have ordered from here the delivery took much longer than the estimated time which was 40 min. food arrived more than AN HOUR late. really annoying when other places are so much quicker. not really sure why it took so long but the food was barely warm when it arrived.
