Uptown Cottage

I've lived in the neighborhood for over four years and Uptown Cottage is far and away the best Chinese delivery in the area. The food is fresh and well-prepared and arrives very quickly.

I have been ordering from Uptown Cottage for years. I don't even know how they deliver so fast! My order is always right. They are efficient, pleasant and consistent. The restaurant itself isn't much to look at, but everything from your basic chicken-broccoli to fancy sushi rolls is always fresh and well prepared. Nothing extraordinary flavor-wise ....its the "usual", but for local delivery in the neighborhood...you just can't beat it. I'll continue to be a loyal customer!

The staff at cottage are extremely friendly and helpful, What can I say? Have NEVER gone wrong with the sushi, always of the utmost quality. Thank you cottage - we go back to the Yuki Sushi days. Highly recommended.

Beyond a doubt, the best sushi on the Upper East Side. Dine in or delivery, always consistently fresh and delicious. Never had a problem with cottage hands down the best Japanese in the area!

These recent reviews are very puzzling to me. This place has 100% of the time not only fulfilled orders in a timely fashion, but has also had some of the most consistently delicious Chinese not only for a small delivery place but it rivals some of the best Chinese in the city. Been ordering here for 2 years. You found a hair in your food? Does that mean that everyone's food will always have a hair in it? Too much oil/breading/crap in your food? Ever try asking for what you'd like as you order it? That's the beauty of Seamless, you can literally spell out your requests. 1 star reviews here are pretty aggressive and I can say are not based on the regular output of this place.

No, no, never again. After ordering from here many times--and liking the 4 precious jewels and the copious dumplings--I've concluded most things are just too gross to be worth it. This time we had a big order: the dumplings were basically gross, the wonton soup was disgusting (yellow broth), the mixed seafood w/ hunon sauce was also repulsive. We also got sushi which seemed fresh but... I just think this place has gone down too far to be worth ordering from again. Alas. Also, they are ALWAYS LATE.

Ordered the mooshu beef, made a point of saying 'No Mushrooms Please', got it and it was filled with mushrooms. I'm allergic - gave it to the dog and heated up a pizza

Food never arrived. ETA of 30-45 minutes; called the restaurant after one and half hours, and was informed that the food was on its way. I live about 12 blocks from the restaurant. Waited another hour for the food. Even if they just realized that I had ordered, it shouldn't have taken over an hour to get the food out of the door! After that hour, when I tried calling back, the restaurant had closed. No food. On the bright side, I must commend Seamless customer support! They were very sympathetic and immediately refunded my card.

I was skeptical about ordering from here since there have been a number of negative reviews but I was dying for Chinese & it was the only option open at the time, so I decided to give it a shot. Since a few people mentioned rubbery/gummy chicken, I decided to stay away from the meat options and ordered fried vegetable dumplings and the long-life vegetarian (asst. steamed veg & bean curd) with black bean sauce. I was really pleasantly surprised--the food was really good & fresh-tasting, delivery was quick and friendly and the portions are huge so I'd consider it a good value. I should mention, however, that they DID get part of my order wrong--instead of vegetable dumplings they sent pork, which I realized when I bit into the first one. I'm still giving them a good rating because the pork dumplings were awesome--hot, tasty, perfectly crispy on the outside without being overdone & a good ratio of filling to dough--and I didn't really mind since I'd been debating which ones to order anyway. However, if I were a vegetarian I would have been pretty pissed. It's certainly possible that they would have corrected the mistake if I'd called, but since I was happy with the dumplings I received I didn't bother.

Prompt delivery, and the food is always piping hot. (i'm addicted to the miso soup and sweet&sour chicken lunch special. So Good.)

Arrived 40 minutes late, rude, the bubble tea tasted like milk and nothing else, and the food was luke warm. Delivery guy was a grade A jerk.

Well. All I can say is that I've been waiting for my food for 1 Hour and 10 minutes and it still isn't here. The restaurant is 3 blocks from my house. I've called them twice.. Seems pretty ridiculous for a basic order. Very Hungry.. and Very Disappointed at the moment.
