Yummy Sushi (1st Ave)

Yummy has the best sushi on the Upper East Side. The food always arrives with time to spare and fish and rice are always fresh.

sushi was fast, fresh and YUMMY! the portions were HUGE! i would get the rolls right side in though- they were a little heavy on the rice. Definitely ordering again. yum yum yum.

Would have been a three but extra point for 1. lowest prices in the 'hood, 2. speed of delivery (arrived literally seven minutes after ordering, four blocks away) and 3. the delivery guy was the politest ever (thanked me for buzzing him up and had a beaming smile when I opened the door - even after walking up four flights of stairs). Anyway, miso soup was below average (all broth, only a few tiny pieces of tofu and seaweed). Edamame was above average - I like it hot and salty, which it was. The sushi rolls, although ENORMOUS, were just OK. I had two salmon rolls (one spicy salmon, one Philadelphia) and the salmon was VERY fishy and tough, which made me question how fresh it was. I really want to like this place so will probably try once more.

I don't understand the bad ratings for this place - super fast delivery, the sushi is very decently priced for how much you get. This is my go-to sushi lunch special place to order from.

Not bad, but not great. The spicy salmon rolls had too much rice on the outside and too much crunchy stuff on the inside, masking the taste of the fish. Average sushi.

The food is always fresh and tasty. They're always quick. And it's one of the least expensive sushi places I've found. It's a great value and I order from here all the time. I'm surprised anyone's given it a low rating!

I have been trying out sushi places in the neighborhood and I was really surprised how fresh and delicious this place was. I didn't order much; yellowtail and scallion roll, california roll and gyoza and they were all delicious. I will order again over the other sushi places I have tried around here!

The food was fine and lunch specials were priced well. But I buzzed the delivery person intpo my elevator building and he buzzed again and told me to come down. Seriously? Probably won't order from them again because other places with good food will come to my door.

The sashimi was good however the crispy tempura roll, the beef negimaki and chicken yakitori were really bad, overly sweet, overly greasy and tasted horrible. Will not order again.
