The first time I ordered from Nori the food was great but the past two times the food has been disappointing. I should point out that my first order from Nori was only about a month ago, so not only is it a steady decline but also a quick one. The Yakisoba noodles were so good the first time I got them, I ordered them again the following week. They were OK the second time but not crave worthy. I ordered them again this week hoping to get that same delicious noodle dish that I was initially so happy about. Sadly this time I got a solidly packed block of noodles with thick, tough bits of beef on top. I'm not sure I'm ready to totally give up on Nori because I'm an optimist that wants to believe their sushi and Yakisoba noodles will once again be what they were just a short month ago.

I've ordered the Cali Roll, The Philly Roll, The Spicy Tuna Roll, The Michigan Roll, and Party Tray A. All the sushi I've ordered arrived promptly and tasted fresh. I particularly enjoyed the Cali Roll, the Spicy Tuna Roll, and the Michigan Roll. The Philly Rolls are fine. The Party Tray had some items I enjoyed and others that, while fine, were nothing to write home about (Sorry I can't remember which sushi I liked). I've had one small issue with this restaurant. Occasionally I add more than one order of spicy mayo to go with the sushi, but I only receive one serving of spicy mayo when the food arrives. Additionally, sometimes I order rolls prepared in different ways(some rolls maki and others inside out), but the rolls all arrive prepared the same. It's not related to the quality of the sushi itself, but worth noting.

First, they have the best Thai red curry in town. Get it with veggies or catfish...awesome. I've ordered several times from them but got no rice tonight. I called right away and they got my rice back in 20 minutes. Their delivery time estimates are always accurate too....much more than I can say for a lot of restaurants that I've ordered from.

Delish! Always fresh, good variety - they have inari sushi! - and reliable delivery. They always give enough soy sauce and also provide little dishes to put it in.

Love Hing Kee...it's our go-to for takeout. The Vietnamese rare beef pho is my husband's favorite, I like the tempura shrimp udon. For non soup days we like the pan-friend pork dumplings, spice salt and pepper calamari (so good!), and the chicken with vegetables is great for lunch the next day. The bubbles teas are the best, but not bad. The sushi was ok for takeout.

It's the best Chinese restaurants in Chicago. It used to be on Wells for years then the owner decided to take some time off. It's still in old town but now on LaSalle. Best Kung Pao, hot and sour soup and crab rangoons I've ever had. My friends are all hooked on it now.

  • Kai Sushi (W Grand Ave between N Noble St & N Bishop St)

Very fresh and good value. I am a sushi rookie, and loved the Flaming VIP Roll. It was topped with crunchy bonito flakes (think texture of fried onion strings) and included cooked salmon. I highly recommended this entrée for those less adventurous sushi-goers. My wife, the sushi pro, loved the sashimi platter (11 pieces). We also shared a Chicago Fire roll. I wish the menu description included "seaweed wrapped" or maki style. The rice within was well-cooked, and had the perfect texture. We both like spicy food, and the jalepano sauce was merely a light flavor adder, so don't expect a great deal of heat, despite the name. This was our third delivery from from Kai, so I can now vouch for the consistent quality. We don't like to review without a decent sample size. Each time, the order arrived in timely manner. The only reason this was not 5-stars was due to the way food was packed into the bag. Twice, our orders have included a cucumber salad. Both times, the rice vinegar has spilled inside the delivery bag, resulting in wet/stained napkins and chop sticks. Changing the container, or wrapping in Saran Wrap would be an easy fix. Kai was a great choice for us, and will stay on our favorites list. I look forward to trying more Special Rolls. Having pictures of menu items would be another great improvement for the site/app.
