Bedawi Cafe

I really like Bedawi Cafe -- there labana and lamajun are my favorites and my neighbors love the chicken shawarma. Two complaintsL delivery time can be inconsistent and they only give you one thin slice of pita for the appetizer sampler that comes with 3 different types of dip -- stingy.

The Falafel Platter is sub-par, but for $7, I'll let it slide. The salad it came with was not fresh-looking and very bland. The Baklava was small and made with FAKE maple syrup. Their Bedawi Pizza was pretty good, though.

So everything sounds really good in the descriptions. Unfortunately, nothing tasted even remotely like it was described. Different salads were supposed to deliver ingredients such as vinegar, lemon, feta...but didn't. Oddly enough, every single thing I ordered in the appetizer sampler (Spinach & Chickpeas, Bedawi Salad, Taboleh, Foul, and Beet Salad) tasted exactly the same. The one spark of hope was what I think was supposed to be the Spinach and Chickpeas. I can't be sure because there was no spinach but there were definitely chickpeas. And It wasn't bad. I also got a vegetable lunch plate (it's an iceberg lettuce salad with a few pieces of unseasoned roasted peppers and tomatoes on the side- did they send me the wrong stuff??) with baba ghanouj and, my goodness, it all tasted exactly the same as everything else. I really wanted this food to taste good. It smelled good. It looked good. It tasted like nothing. At all. I hope it was all a hilarious mistake.

Do not be fooled by the so-dry-it-crumbles-without-touching-it falafel. Everything else on the menu is superlative, and the service is quick and friendly.

Opted for pick-up, cuz they're just a block or two away. Meal was ready fast. Beet salad was my favorite - has a little kick of cumin. Feta/parsley phyllo pastry was really good - comes with a side salad; good size and good deal for five bucks. Their veggie side dishes and salads etc. stand out here - they outshine the falafel, in my opinion. Haven't tried the flatbread pizzas yet. Hummus needed a little something - probably could use some lemon juice and/or salt, but that could just be my own taste talking. I'd order again.

yes yes yes. These guys are nice in the restaurant, the food is delicious, the space is pretty and pleasant. And then I got delivery tonight, and it was quick and that smell! Oh man the aroma of the food when I opened the bag actually made me hungrier than I already was. This is one of my favorite restaurants for when I want Middle-Eastern food (which is a lot). Try their Chicken Ouzi, you'll die.

I love the chicken sandwich. The pizza is also yummy. My only disapointment has been the humus. Not worth odering.

I wouldn't feed their food to my worst enemy if I had one. Seriously inedible. The falafel was dry and tasted of black pepper. The grapeleaves were also dry. Everything just tasted like yesterday's food that someone returned after tasting it. Don't waste your money. Unfortunately, zero stars was not an option.

Really bad. The lamb was dry and tasteless....and that merguez....the worst. No flavor...tasted like it turned. The desserts weren't even good.
