Defonte's of Brooklyn

Let me preface this by saying, Defonte does have great food. This review is about their poor delivery. I ordered four items. One, a house salad, was not included in the delivery. I called to request that they send it and there was just a quick "We'll get it to you. I'll call you when the delivery goes out" without an apology. No big deal. I wait 30 minutes for the phone call, then decide to call them to check on the status. The delivery has not gone out yet and they can't give me an ETA. I ask to cancel the order and to get my money back. They say they can give me credit instead. I express that I would not like credit as I don't plan to order from them anymore, and the person on the line says that it's going to be delivered in 5 minutes, finally giving me an ETA. The food gets to me 10 minutes later without a fork. My coworker had to effectively wait an hour longer than intended to eat her HOUSE SALAD. It should not have been forgotten in the first place, the least the person could do was apologize and attempt to get it to us in a timely fashion, and for the cost, we all expected better overall service. Never ordering for delivery from this place again.

when they first opened the food was as terrific as the customer service. sadly, enough both have gone downhill. they charge alot of $$ and unfortunately the food quality and customer service stinks. roast beef consistently over cooked ,fatty and dry the au jus doesn' helpmask the dryness and taste of the roastbeef . if you order something and they don't have it they don't bother to call and ask if you would like to substitute or remove from order they just decide to substitute. this place is an institution too bad they do not live up to the standards and if you call to complain you may just speak to someone who is experienced in rudeness. there are other places with better quality and worth paying full price

this place is supposed to be the best, but i was really disappointed with my sandwich. i got a chicken cutlet parm sandwich, it was a HUGE piece of chicken, not enough sauce, and no cheese! it was just this fat slab of meat on a dry sandwich. not happy.

Amazing sandwiches. Anything with their homemade mozzarella cheese and eggplant is going to blow your mind. They are very large sandwiches, so you may be able to split one with someone. Strongly recommend. I just wish they were open later!
