El Camion Cantina

I'm extremely disappointed with my order from El Camion. For $10 tacos, I was expecting a generous portion or at least rivaling taste to the $3 tacos I can get elsewhere. When my food arrived 45min later I got two 3in soggy, actually watery tortillas with a few pieces of meat and some shredded lettuce. I don't know how this can pass for a $10 meal, especially since half of it was uneatable. Also got the $6 chips and guac, nothing special and wouldn't have paid more than $2 for it if I had known. I will not be ordering from this place again.

Nachos was SUPER fishy. I could barely even eat them. Rice was typical red rice. Really like the nachos from El Camion but will be sticking with the chicken--no more shrimp for me!

Took a chance on El Camion and was very happy I did. My order was delivered promptly and was packaged nicely. The tacos were awesome. So were the salad and grilled corn. Might be my new favorite.

This rating is based on the fish tacos. I'm originally from the Baja California area so that makes me kind of a mexican food snob. That being said, I know that Mexican food in Manhattan is a little different from where I'm from so I've learned to take what I can get. These fish tacos, however, were really not that great. The breading had the consistency and flavor of funnelcake, which didn't pair well with the fish- In fact, it was so doughy and soft that it kind of overpowered the fish all together. The cucumber slaw was very mayonaise drenched, didn't really pair well with the doughy sweet fish, and to top it all off- now, this is important- the tortillas were flour! The whole meal was so dense, glutinous and heavy that it honest to goodness tasted just like a spicy California roll. I managed to eat 1 and a half out of 3 before throwing it away- for $15, not worth it!

My wife and I ordered chicken and steak fajitas and these were majorly disappointing. We each received 4 miniature tortillas and I mean miniature. We both did a double take - how are we suppose to make our fajitas out of these? Once I looked at the container of meat, I understood why. I had a nice portion of peppers and onions and 3 tiny pieces of steak. Enough meat to fill one and maybe half of a second mini fajita. My wife's chicken portion was the same. Taste-wise, the chicken and steak had little. Rice and beans were good but I didn't spend $40 for rice and beans.

Pros: - Big bag of chips with the chips and salsa. Cons: - They forgot the salsa for the chips and salsa. - Slow delivery. Food was cold. - Tiny portions. My $12 vegetable tacos were appetizer-sized. - Expensive. Eaten at the actual restaurant and it was great. Delivery is terrible. Not worth the wait.

Twenty dollars for a small mediocre chicken burrito and a side of refried beans that tasted caned. I ordered here because Mo's Southwestern Grill was closed. Next time I order earlier from Mo's.

Went out on a limb and tried this place and the food was really great. Yummy Mexican and not too greasy. The queso fundito and the burrito were both excellent.... the chicken wings were a little too sweet for my taste. Will definitely order from here again.

The tortilla soup could have been more flavorful, but I was still impressed because the tortilla strips were still crispy when my order arrived! Yes, the portions are on the small side, but overall the food was delicious and worth it. Will definitely order again.

I'm sure the fish tacos would've been good if they weren't cold by the time they arrived. BTW, very small portions - only order if you want something small and light!
