Famous Luigi's

The delivery time listed on the webstie says the delivery can take up to 90 minutes. This was not the case with my order. From the time I placed to order to the time they were at my door it was 40 minutes flat. I had the calzone and the calamari - both were good. They threw in some bread, which seemed to be homemade as it tasted like the stromboli crust. The stromboli was good - very authentic and the calamari probably would have been good eating in but was a bit soggy (as is to be expected) once it arrived. Overall, good experience and I would order from Famous Luigi's again without hesitation.

I'm a born and raised NY-NJ Italian American. I had read good things about Luigi's and was in the mood for some good Italian food. I was surprisingly disappointed by their delivery service. This is a sit-down restaurant, so they can't be blamed for taking more than an hour to deliver. But the pizza had too much cheese for an 11' pie, the Rigatoni was a bit overcooked and bland, lacking the hearty-tastiness I would generally look for in a Rigatoni Rustica. The pizza crust reminded me of a frozen-prepackaged dough that had a cardboard-esque texture to it that I couldn't get over. I also ordered a tartufo that literally came pre-packaged and was not what I expected. The chocolate shell overpowered the ice cream. Not refreshing. Probably won't be ordering from here again, but maybe the in-store experience is better.

Luigi's definitely knows how to make good pizza, but they aren't joking about their delivery time. I got a pizza for 1 with four toppings and while it was tasty, I think it was too many toppings for such a small pie. Next time I'll keep it under 2 toppings.

The delivery was 15 minutes early! That was a PLUS! The Lasagne alla Luigi was OK. The sauce and pasta were good, but there was not enough cheese. There was only one layer of cheese on top and none throughout the dish. Also, I expected ground beef as the meat and it seemed to be chunks of beef like roast beef. It was not a good meat to include in lasagne. I would not order this dish again.

Order came 10 mins after scheduled delivery, which didn't really bother me. I ordered the Rigatoni All Arrabiata, Lasagna Alla Luigi, and Mushrooms and Potatos appetizer (sorry - i forgot the menu name). They were all excellent tasting, but I had to subtract 2 stars since the lasagna was cold, and the other items were just luke-warm.

The delivery man insisted that I had not paid for the food online and made me pay 30 dollars. When in reality, I had paid online and he made me pay twice. Do not buy from here, they are robbers!

I had to throw away my soup because it was so salty (I've never done this before) and the greens in my salad were brown. It was a completely inedible meal. The worst delivery I've ever had-- very disappointed.

45 minutes late (and I ordered several hours ahead). Pizza was cold and not even cut properly. Driver was nice but made no apologies for being so late. I called once about 15 minutes after the delivery time and was told it'd be there in "10 minutes." Yeah, right. Never again.

Food showed up after 2 hours (delivery time was 75 to 90 minutes), only mildly warm and not nearly up to its 5 star rating. The chicken was soggy, and the pasta was bland and saturated in sauce.

The salmon dinner was excellent - the large protion of fish was moist and tasty and it included grilled vegetables and a small (just right) amount of spaghetti. We had a side of broccoli in garlic and olive oil, (it's listed on the appetizer menu but really is a side dish) which was also fresh and tasty.
