Harry's Italian

I've eaten at Harry's Italian (delivery, pick-up, and dine-in) many times. It's also a regular Happy Hour location for us. Old Fashioned Square Pizza = excellent. Spaghetti with garlic and oil = very good. Orecchiette Rabe & Sausage = very good. Linguine with Mussels = very good. Their meatballs, sausage, and the sides of Focaccia bread are very good as well. My only complaint is that their delivery service (especially the follow-up customer service) is very bad when they are busy. If you are within walking distance, I strongly recommend ordering for PICK-UP ONLY. If you’re going to do delivery, place your order no later than 11:30am for lunch or you will wait 80 minutes for cold food which can ruin the entire experience.

I usually have a good experience with Harry's Italian, but my 16 dollar salad was actually going bad and did not have the five dollar side of shaved parmesan that I ordered. Salad -- not a good idea. :(

Big fan of Harry's Steak and Cafe. Tried Harry's Italian for the first time and was not disappointed.

Prior to Hurricane Sandy, the pizza at Harry's was excellent and staff where I work bought it all the time. Certainly worth the premium price. However, I ordered a small pizza with extra cheese recently (after our return downtown from the flooding) which cost $21.00 including a $2.00 tip. It was pathetic. Before Sandy, the $20.00 pizza was the size of a dinner plate but so good it was worth the splurge. This recent pizza was larger BUT, even though I ordered extra cheese, barely half the pizza was skimpingly covered. And the cheese was parmesan only and was hard. Finally, the crust, although hopefully done, had that uncooked surface which I simply hate. Never again. I actually called Harry's to see if the chef had changed since our return downtown from Sandy. I was told the same chef was still in the kitchen. Save your money and order elsewhere or even buy frozen. Frozen would be better than the pizza I received last week. So sad.

WHAT HAPPENED?? WE ALWAYS ORDER THE FAMILY SIZE SPAGHETTI WITH MEATBALLS AND THE PORTIONS WERE SO GENEROUS IT FED TWO ADULTS AND TWO CHILDREN - AND WE ALWAYS HAD LOADS LEFT OVER. WE ORDERED IT TODAY, AND THE PORTION LITERALLY HALVED!!! MY FAMILY OF FOUR FINISHED IT CLEAN AND WERE STILL HUNGRY! SERIOUSLY HARRY'S - WHAT'S HAPPENING? WAS THIS JUST A ONE-OFF THING WITH A STINGY COOK OR HAS THE PORTIONS BEEN CONSIDERABLY REDUCED???

we probably order from harrys once every two weeks, the pizza is always delicious (square pie with pepperoni and jalepenos is choice) and the pasta dishes are great too. calzones are also delicious, really tatsy! good spot to dine in, too

I love Harry's. I eat there at least once a week. There are so many delicious entrees, but my favorites are the chicken parm sandwich, the calzone, and their delicious square pizza. I've never had a bad meal here. Sometimes the delivery can take up to 35 minutes.. and I live right next door.

This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants downtown! I've lived in the financial district for almost 7 years and have yet to find a better pizza place to go to. Their old fashioned pizza is extraordinary - my favorite toppings to get are sausage, mushroom, and capers, yummmm!!! They also have a selection of great salads and entrées (the chicken marsala is another favorite of mine). Their unlimited mimosa brunch also is worth trying although I prefer the Harry's Cafe on Hanover Square's unlimited champagne brunch over it. Overall, this is a place worth trying out, you won't be disappointed!

Hands down this is our number one most ordered from place for takeout via Seamless Web. They are fantastic! I think Jim orders from Harry's at least 3 times a week and this is no exaggeration! You can get huge portions of absolutely fantastic tasting Italian food for a very very reasonable price delivered straight to your door if you are lucky enough to be in their delivery area. If you aren't and you work or find yourself in the Financial District for lunch then find yourself here. You will not be disappointed, the only thing I must warn you about is that you may end up with a hardcore case of "The Itis". My favorite dish from them is their spaghetti and meatballs and it comes with their delicious and fresh bread and at $11 for their lunch sized portion. I actually can break this down into two to three meals!!! It's that much food at least for me! And to be honest, it tastes better the next day because the marinara is just fantastic! The meatballs are also absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection! I can't say enough good things about this place. I mean, you can actually taste the pride they put into their food, even at this price point and for it being delivery, they go above and beyond what anyone should expect for take out Italian food. Also, some good ones on their menu include their lasagna and meatball subs. If you feel like throwing your diet out the window and are craving some good old-fashioned Italian comfort food, Harry's should be on your list of go-to spots! Highly recommended!!

Similar issues to the reviewer below with ordering issues. It's a shame b/c I have literally ordered from the dozens of times over the years. Will not order from them again -- I guess they don't need the business -- and there are many italian restaurants to order from in the neighborhood.

I love Harry's...I order here at least 2x a week. The food is delicious (especially the chicken marsala) and its always delivered while the food is still hot (they package all the food well).

I wanted to give this pizza 5 stars because I love Harry and I think he has done amazing things to improve the quality of food and drink in lower manhattan. I am a New Yorker and have lived here my entire life -- downtown 17 yrs. I know pizza. It's better than Inatesso - no competition. However, it was a little light on the sauce and cheese and it got mushy in the middle. I asked for it well done...not sure if it was. I ate a lot of it - it was tasty - but not perfect. Assuming (I hope) it's a brick over, the bottom should be crispier. Please Harry, I heart you, make these minor adjustments. Hope this helps everyone. I will order again.
