it's no fun posting negative reviews. i want small businesses to succeed. but we all work hard for our money and personally, i prefer to be satisfied with my purchase than to feel like i've wasted my hard earned cash... despite the fact that we've ordered from hop hap many times in the past, i can never really remember if i liked the food or not. which i suppose is evidence enough that the food is not special. well, tonight it was not only not special -- it was just not good. poor quality, not fresh, cold upon delivery, small portion size, bland, watery curry. plus the delivery guy was rude. let this review serve as a reminder to myself that no, i really don't like hop hap....

Fast, friendly service. Good food. Loved the Labb Salad which was both minty and spicy (although the menu doesn't mention the spiciness - which is bad for those who aren't into it). It was a little wet, but still really tasty. The Ginger Tofu Eggplant was good. The quality of the veggies was excellent. But the tofu was a bit dry and tough. Good thing there was a lot of liquid in there too. More ginger please! It is the first word in the name, but the least noticeable ingredient. All in all, I'd recommend HopHap. (BTW- no restaurant's fried food arrives crispy when you get it delivered. Too much steam on the way over)

We order from here ALL the time. It's always high quality. The Drunken Noodle, Pineapple Fried Rice, the Massaman Curry--all delicious! The prices are incredibly reasonable. Most of all, though, the delivery is FAST. And I mean--FAST. Seriously, I have NO idea how they get to our place that fast--we are always surprised. Love!

Good with a few exceptions. There was very little "meat" (vegan duck, actually) in the Pad Thai lunch set, which was otherwise good. The triangle fried tofu was bland and boring. The vegetarian dumplings were delicious. Fast delivery, but my write-in instructions were ignored.

Food is okay at best. Don't order from here if you have little ones and you can't leave them unattended. The delivery guys are lazy and won't walk upstairs and pretend not to understand EVERY TIME. You have to go get the food yourself.

i order from here a few times a month- the portions aren't huge, but they're great about specialty orders and usually fairly quick. personally, i think the noodles are better than their curry.

Really bad Thai. No idea why others rate it high. The ONLY good thing was the delivery service: timely and super nice. Awful, inauthentic food.

Shocked by all the good reviews. Calling our order mediocre would be generous. The Tom Kha soup was watered down, with very little chicken, raw vegetables, and not-too-fresh sliced white mushrooms instead of the usual straw. The Som Tam had more lettuce than papaya. Tofu and Vegetable Prik King had decent flavor, but there were four pieces of tofu in the whole order. Maybe it was an off-night, but there's just too much good Thai food in Carroll Gardens for me to order from here again.
