The food tonight was absolutely amazing. It's rare that you order delivery and receive the best meal you've had all week. Delicious, delicious, delicious. The pulled pork, mashed potatoes, biscuits, black eyed peas and braised greens were perfect. We've ordered from here A LOT and have had issues in the way past with delivery times, but the past handful of orders have been spot on. Thank you, Brooklyn Southern!

Ordered from there last night- the food arrived very cold. The po-boy came with out the slaw-- it also wasn't dressed or seasoned. It made for a cold, dull sandwich.

Okay, so this place has had some uneven reviews, but I'm a Southerner and a bit homesick tonight, so I thought I'd try it out. Delivery: 30 mins. Full points. The Meal: Chicken Fried Steak, sides of Mac & Cheese and Black Eyed Peas. Pecan Tart First out of the bag was the Mac & Cheese. Decent. A bit bland. Meh. Next up: Black-Eyed Peas. Initially I wondered if they'd sent me some sort of soup instead, because a stir showed exactly zero peas, although there was some vaguely pea-resembling detritus swirling around in the gloop. I took a bite. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Not what you're expecting (pretty sure there was more pulled pork in that cup than they'd serve on a sandwich), but day-um. Salty and flavorful and intensely satisfying. Still wouldn't be surprised if it was soup, but man would I eat it again in a heartbeat. Protip: The peas and mac got a little mixed together on my plate, and that extra salty-smokey element took forgettable mac to a new level. Yum! Quick side note: Docking points for the lack of bread-with-entree. I was hoping for the review-mentioned hush puppies (looked to order as an appetizer; didn't see 'em), but figured they'd add biscuits or cornbread or something to the bag. This is soul food! Entree time: I was dubious when it came out of the bag. I was right. The gravy across the top was the exact color and consistency of congealing bacon grease, with a few onions (?) limply splattered throughout. I bravely took my trusty steak knife and attacked. Four minutes later, I'd managed to carve a bite. I examined the meat. The meat examined me back. There was *something* breaded, but I STILL don't know what. Actual eating didn't solve the mystery, either. On the upside: flavor wasn't bad and the breading was good. (which was all I ended up eating after a few college-tries on the meat.) UGH. Finale: Pecan Tart. THIS. IS. PECAN PIE. Y'all. Sweeeeeet, but not sugary or syrupy. Good. Dark, rich, sinful, extra-star good.

Stop putting fennel seeds in the fried chicken breading. It's a travesty.

Only giving two stars because we've had it before when it's good, but tonight - oh, man. Took an hour and twenty minutes when the order said 45-60min. Called to check on order and was told "We have one delivery guy and got a bunch of Seamless orders at once...I don't know what to tell you." Was told food would still be hot and fresh when it got to us. Well, it wasn't. The sandwiches were decent, but that wasn't the problem. We were also delivered something that appeared to be fries, but had the consistency of thick, wet pasta. They were cold and wet and didn't resemble (in the slightest) the shoestring joy they were intended to be. When the fries slithered out of the bag, suddenly the sandwich wasn't as appetizing either. Add to that an unapologetic attitude from the restaurant when calling, and I'll be ordering from other places from now on. I'd imagine it's good when dining in, because I've had good food from them before, but I wouldn't recommend ordering from this restaurant through Seamless unless they increase their staff.

The Shrimp & Grits have the tails on them, which is idiotic, since it means you have to reach into saucy shrimp and pull them off, which is repulsive. Also ordered the Macaroni and Cheese Croquettes which were pretty good, if a little salty.

Good food and fast delivery, but it wasn't amazing. The cheese in the Mac and Cheese wasn't really good and it was overcooked and sort of mushy. It said coleslaw came with the fried chicken (which was good) but it was a teeny tiny little container. I would have ordered extra if I knew- it was great. They put these little dough ball thingies in with the chicken as an extra and they were really delicious. Will prob order from here again.

Chicken is decent...not much flavor but really juicy. Hush puppies are gross. Dirty rice is tasty.
