Merchants River House was WAY off their game tonight. The steak sandwich came with 'shrooms after I asked them to omit them, and the mac and cheese was dry and kinda cheeseless (I have had it many times before...it used to be excellent). They handled the sandwich issue well (sent another in about 30 minutes) but claimed the chef hadn't heard anyone else complain about the mac and cheese today. Well what is he going to say, "yeah I know, people have been complaining all day and I keep serving it"? Dissapointed.

Merchants River House's food and delivery service are top-notch. We frequent the restaurant and order via Seamless often and are always very happy with the service and quality. Highly recommended.

Usually Merchants is good and reliable, but tonight the were neither. Perhaps it was because of the holiday weekend? I ordered a hamburger, and a salad with a side of mashed potatoes, which took them close to an hour to deliver. Instead got a bacon cheesburger with fried onions with no salad. They did get the potatoes right. When I called them, they sounded as if they were extremely busy, but I was put on hold and talked to three or four (I lost count) different people. They were unable to locate my order; when I offered to give them the Seamless order number they said "we don't have that." After being kept on hold, they finally acknowledged that the order was wrong and said they would send another, along with a dessert to make up for the error. I got the salad and the hamburger...no dessert. I didn't pursue it further -- I was just happy to finally get dinner. I work on weekends, and have an hour for my dinner break. Fortunately, we weren't busy, so they were able to be flexible about it, but it's unlikely I'll order from them again...on any holiday weekend, at any rate.

This place has no pride in its food. The hamburger was thrown together, nowhere near the doneness I asked for and oddly flavorless. And I did not think it was possible to make bad fries, but Merchants made them taste like cardboard.

Too bad the delivery and service for this merchant is not as good as all the other Merchants in NYC. Just like another reviewer, I am just a few minutes away on foot and my order took over an hour and a half. Had to call looking for the food...no apologies for their error as they had not even processed it

I ordered at 8:52pm on a Saturday and as of now, 10:48pm, have not gotten my order after a quote of 60 min. This is ridiculous, especially given that I could walk there in about 8 minutes. So disappointed!

Order was OK, but they forgot the shoestring potatoes. Would have been nice--especially at that price.

Really great, reasonably priced, more upscale delivery. They are always fast and pay attention to special instructions. The burger and calamari are among my favorites!

Delivery was supposed to be sent out by 5:15, the food got delivered by 3:45.By the time it was dinner time, food was cold/old . This should not be the case. We are complaining about this, expecting this to be 1/2 off.

Food order of two items came in 1 hour 20 minutes (I live 3 minutes wlk distance from the place, the weather was great, it's wednesday). No apology from the restaurant when I called to inquire. Fish was cold but eatable but the side of string beans was ridiculous - I've counted precisely 7 of them. What gives?? Calamari - cold and soggy. Terrible experience overall

3 stars for mac & cheese was above average. i know using nutmeg is common in some areas of italy. i wasnt expecting it. not a huge fan of it, but it was ok. ZERO stars for their slow roasted prime rib. When i hear the words "slow roasted", or simply, "prime rib", by definition, it should melt in your mouth and be juicy, and soo tender that you can cut it with a fork. Their prime rib is the EXACT opposite of what it should be. If you're looking for a good forearm workout hacking away at their prime rib with a sharp steak knife could be a great workout. But seriously, either learn how to cook prime rib properly, or take it off your menu.

Usually place is real good with entrees but today I decided to order the steak sandwhich. Big mistake. Tasted like something you would get in a prison cafeteria.

If you've been wondering where to find good classic fare, quickly delivered, this is the place. The fish and chips are perfectly prepared and free of any secret surprise, trendy ingredients. The burgers are char-grilled to order. And they pay attention to special instructions!
