Mi Nidito

Above average Mexican food. Ordered tonight as Mi Nidito is open late, and I felt I was coming down with a cold. Ordered their Chicken Veggie Soup. Astonishingly good-- it was like someone at the restaurant decided today was the day to make a fresh pot, with lots of crisp veggies in it. So good. Also had guacamole (decent) and (salsa-- which was tangy with some horseradish in it, and different but good), and a chicken dish with a garlic cream sauce. So, on the whole... I'd say... see what the reviewers like, and order accordingly--

We have been eating at Mi Nidito for 10 years. Definitely among the most consistent Mexican food in the Midtown West. Delivery is usually within the stated time (by usually, we are talking 95% o' the time). PK's Black Bean soup is a great value, it is no wonder that it is among the most liked items on the menu. Cheese dip is flavorful, but not the way cheese dip should be done. More of an aesthetic concern. Enchiladas suizas, faijitas, spicy chicken enchiladas, chimchanga, tacos al carbon, and chiliquiles all winners. Guacamole and Pico are good. Their salads, rice and beans leave something to be desired otherwise five stars.

Mi Nidito has great, healthy food and delivers late-night. It's expensive, but the portions are huge to share. It would be top-notch if we hadn't had the following 2 of 12 experiences with delivery: 1. Sharp metal object in salsa, that I happened to catch. Still have metal object. Entire meal ditched. 2. Food poisoning from salmon. Otherwise, rock on.

delicious! Fast delivery. The chimichanga was fresh, the chicken tasty and balanced, and clean tasting. Very pricey for mexican food. UPDATE: the guacamole did a number on my stomach. -1 star

I ordered the healthy burrito with chicken. It came with sides of rice, beans, sour cream & guac. The serving size was huge, but the rice & beans had NO seasoning--not even salt. The burrito was so-so. They forgot the soda I ordered. Lastly, I think the salsa was the only decent item they served.

Food is hot when delivered and savory for vegetarian choices. Delivery was quick and courteous - all around really good. I'm a definite repeat offender.

Probably the best tex-mex in the neighborhood. I particularly like their salsa - most mexican restaurants in the area have no clue about salsa. Unfortunately, the prices are a little high or I would order more often! But still, great local tex-mex.

For 25 bucks you get a few shreds of steak, 3 shrimp, and a bunch of chicken shavings on top of a mountain of vegetables. The amount of meat in that dish was ridiculous. For 25 dollars it should have been a mountain of meat with some vegetables on the side. The flavor was ok, except that the dish was super spicy, without being labeled as such. Never ordering from here again.

This was a big disappointment. I was really hoping for a nice salad. It was iceberg lettuce, thrown together with chicken - not at all like the description. I will not order here again. CLeo

This was a terrible experience. The delivery estimate was 35-45 minutes and the food came in on hour and 15 minutes. When I complained to the delivery person (and refused to sign the paper -- which really doesn't do anything than make me feel like I'm making a point), he told me that he had lots of deliveries to make. When I called to complain and asked for the manager, he told me that the kitchen took a long time to make the food. However, when I sat down to eat it, the food was very cold so I'm sure the delivery guy was right. Additionally, I ordered an appetizer called the Cheese Dip which is suppsed to be eaten with chips. They sent a very small bag of chips which is hardly enough to support the appetizer. I even annotated on the order to make sure they send a normal sized bag of chips with the cheese dip. I have been ordering from this restaurant for years and I have noticed that the prices have increased and portions have decreased over the years. This meal used to come with a normal sized bag of chips in addition to a small bag of chips (which comes with the free salsa). I'm sure they only sent the "free" bag of chips as opposed to the one that is supposed to come with order. I am never ordering from here again. This is at least the second bad experience I have had and while the food is normally good, it was questionable this time (but my ordering experience may have had something to do with the taste buds).

Used to order from here all the time (about 3 years ago). The food has gone dramatically downhill. Bland, mushy, blech. If prices were halved, it would still be too expensive for the quality you get. I also don't appreciate that their lunch special indicates that it includes a soda, but you are charged an additional $1 to order one (and have no choice in the matter). If a menu says that something is "included," I wouldn't expect to have to pay additional $. Delivery time was within the window, though, so no issue there.
