Perry Brook Foods

As a vegan who is primarily gluten free, I really hoped that Perry Brook Foods could be my go-to option for ordering out (esp., since there aren't many veg options that deliver to Morningside Heights). Unfortunately, the food is sloppily prepared, and takes forever to get to you. The black bean burger was dry and flavorless. Their gluten free bun is actually not a bun, but slices of "bread." Their steamed kale was just okay, as was their mac and cheese. They should take the chocolate chip cookies off the menu. The chocolate chip cookies are incredibly greasy, and were mushed upon arrival. Although it hurts me to say this, NO, I will not order from Perry Brook Foods again.

The other reviews are pretty dramatic. The food is not terrible (I had the maple seitan and sides). Some of it was good some was okay. The vegetables were all very fresh. It arrived in 45 minutes. I will order here again, you get what you pay for, and this is affordable, casual vegan fare.

This place is HORRIBLE. Do not order from here. It literally looks like it came out of a home kitchen. I returned the food I ordered.

Delivery time wasn't bad. But the food isn't great. Stir fry was very salty (though the veggies were nice and crisp), "fried rice" was mushy and salty as well, and the Mac and cheese was tasteless.

Very Very dissapointed. the "Burger" is just a cold patty sitting in a box, the mac and cheese was cold and the fried rice was burned. Such a shame when you're starving and excited for food. Do yourself a favour and order from elsewhere.

The food was a serious disappointment. I was so thrilled to be able to order vegan food on here, finally, but I don't think I'll ever get stuff from here again. The peach cobbler was quite nice, and the ziti was fine, though uninspiring—but the General Tzo's was literally so awful tasting that I couldn't eat it, and I could not be a less picky eater! It was nothing but a bunch of awful tempeh, which was nothing like any version of General Tzo's I've ever eaten. The corn and sweet potato sides were ok, but really not great. And the 'Mediterranean greens' were dried out and so overlooked that they were like leather. Really, I tried chewing my way through some of them, but had to give up. I wish I'd believed the other bad reviews and stayed away!

I would definitely recommend this place for the food if you're ever in the area and can go to the actual place. However, I would never order delivery again. I ignored the other reviews I saw saying that it takes a long time. My delivery order just took 2 hours and 45 minutes.

AVOID at all costs!!! Delivery time longer than quoted, unprofessional on phone, delivery incomplete (which really killed me)...and then the food was TERRIBLE! Mac & cheese was inedible and dry, beans had no flavor, seitan wings were stringy and tasted stale. We got so excited to have Vegan delivery uptown...so sad. Owner was unwilling to find a solution. Thankfully, Seamless stepped in. Nightmare.

I ordered the spicy black bean burger lunch. Food tastes great, was hoping for a bun as it just came with the patty but the sides I ordered (brussel sprouts and greens) were amazing! Definitely going back for more.

Awful. Should have read the reviews. The "buffalo wings" are tiny cubes of seitan. Slimy with barely any "buffalo" sauce. It's freezing out yet my iced tea came warm. What??! Save yourself. Don't order here.

Small portions lacking in accuracy (buffalo chicken wings were cubes of seitan with no buffalo sauce at all). Sides were a major disappointment since they were scant and without any effort either. Why can't there be a great vegan option that isn't disappointing up in our part of town? Perhaps in person this place may be better but I will not order again.
