Plump Dumpling

I never had a problem with plump dumpling. Unlike when you're at the dingy restaurant, they're really fast and super nice. In fact, I don't understand how everyone is saying it takes forever. I've ordered from PD like at least 15 times. They've always taken 20-30 minutes since i've called. Anyway, the dumplings are fantastic. :D

The food from Plump Dumpling is actually quite good. I know this because my brother who lives in the apartment next door to mine orders from there all the time. Everything that I had from there before was delicious. Whenever my brother would order, they would be here within 30-45 minutes, but my experience was vastly different. I had a craving for Chinese food and so I used Seamless Web for the very first time to order from Plump Dumpling thinking that I'd be eating in 45 minutes max. An hour went by and then I got a phone call asking what apartment I was in and why I didn't answer. I went downstairs to see if the delivery guy was there; no dice, not even a bicycle outside. I called Seamless Web who promptly refunded my order despite the restaurant not wanting to refund it. So all in all, a very frustrating experience from the restaurant perspective. Seamless Web saved the day though, so props to them!

I prefer Dumpling Man, but they don't deliver for lunch so when the dumpling urge comes along midday, I opt for Plump Dumpling.

Probably the worst experience we've had at Plump Dumpling. First the food was over 40 minutes late, so we called to see how it was coming. The woman on the phone said the delivery guy was already on his way and it STILL took almost a half hour after that (an hour and ten minutes total from when we called). Our place is 9 blocks away. When the food came, the delivery guy was very rude and in a hurry, but that could have accounted for how long it took him to deliver (maybe multiple deliveries). Then when the food came, my dumplings were cold. Now I'm no stranger to chicken wings with a few stray feathers in them, but each of the 4 wings had at least 10 visible feathers sticking out of them. It was disgusting. Then to top it all off, my girlfriend's dumpling soup had a 6-inch long black hair cooked into one of the dumplings. Too many problems to just be coincidence. Don't eat here.

BEST dumplings any way you have them. I have a serious addiction to dumplings and was so happy to find this place when I moved to the LES. Their dumplings are definitely handmade and a bar above the other dumplings in this 'hood. They are doughy and meaty. If you want thinner skinned "dumplings" order wontons (or wonton soup). I usually order the curry (pork) dumpling noodle soup because I also love curry and noodle soup. It is a bit greasy with the chili oil floating on top of the soup, but the whole combination is the perfect filling comfort food for rainy days, bad days, hungover days, celebratory days... I've ordered from here on seamless more than I've ordered from anyone else combined. That says it all!

i ordered vegetarian dumplings, but got pork and the noodles with Dumplings soup was not good. But the scallion pancakes were delicious.
