Sac's Place

I order from Sac's place quite frequently. Tonight, after waiting an hour and 45minutes for food, I called the restaurant. The 'manager' immediately blamed me for not inputting my apartment number on my order. She claimed that delivery staff came to my building and also claimed to call me repeatedly. Despite trying to explain that I had used a saved address on seamless and that I had no voice mails on my phone, this woman did nothing but deny responsibility and blame me. I asked if my order might be discounted and she flatly refused and continued to blame me, calling me 'lady' despite having my name right in front of her. She used an unprofessional tone (to say the least) and never, at any point, offered a kind word, an apology or even a hint of compromise or responsibility. I asked to speak with someone else and she said there was no one else I could speak with. I called Seamless immediately. Unable to reach compromise with Sac's place (through an amazingly present alternate manager) the order was canceled. I am a patient person and can understand a busy night, confusion etc., but not the way I was treated. No matter how much I enjoy the food, I will never order or eat there again. I will advise my friends to do the same.

Sac's place used to be my go-to delivery spot... not anymore! The pizza ALWAYS arrives cold now, in a dirty pizza box encrusted with some weird substance and smelling funny and the delivery guys (save for one, friendly guy) are rude, shoving the food into my hands without even a "Hello". On top of that, my last delivery didn't even have the receipt, so the delivery guy had no idea what the price was! Sorry Sac's but I gave you guys multiple times to turn it around.

Order from this place once a week...great pizza and food!! Even better when you go into the restaurant and sit down. The owner is amazing and makes you feel like you are family! We love this place!!

We absolutely LOVE Sac's! The pizza always shows up crispy on bottom but gooey and melty/cheesy on top. The ingredients are fresh and the square pie is a must!

I love dining at Sac's. However, when it comes to delivery, Sac's SUCKS! Everytime the pizza is delivered COLD. If you warm it up in the oven it gets better. But still I wish they would deliver it when it's still hot and crispy.

We live a mere block away from Sac's. We often walk in for pizza and thoroughly enjoy it. But it seems that they just cannot get delivery right. If I live a block away (granted I could just walk over but in tonights instance delivery was paramount) my small pizza should not only get here quicker than for most it should also be hot to the touch, like I have to wait a minute or two to even touch it. Instead the pizza (did I mention it was a small pizza?) arrives 40 minutes later and is cold, "luke warm" would be a compliment to the temperature of this pizza. This sounds really mean and all but come on. This has happened several times. It is as if they could care less. At least this time around it appears to be the correct order/items. We will certainly be saving Sac's for last minute, last resort pizza from now on. And we will be sure to walk in and pick it up. Excuse me while I put my pizza in the oven to warm up.

Placed an order this evening I will never order from them again. First we received a call that an item that we ordered was not available & that they would send something to replace it. During the conversation the woman was extremely rude & acting as if it was my fault that they didn't have the item. After waiting over an hr for food & not receiving our entire order I called them to notify them we were missing items. The woman who answered was extremely rude & being very difficult even trying to imply that we hadn't ordered those things. How difficult would it have been to look at the paperwork she had from seamless. Then she has the nerve to tell me that they will try to send those items out- no apology for their error or mention of the fact that now I was overcharged by them for food I never received. Plus the food we received was cold & not worth all the aggravation.

Won't order from here again, pizza was delivered cold and an hour and a half after I ordered it. I was having a party and thought I'd order a pizza before my friends showed up at 8 PM. The delivery expectation says 30-45 min, so I ordered at 6:45 expecting worse case I'd get it by 7:30. At 7:50 I called the restaurant only to be told by the woman on the phone that she can't look-up or affect those orders that they go "straight to the back" and that I should get it any minute now. At 8 PM my buzzer rang, I ran downstairs thinking it was my dinner, but it was one of my guests. Finally at 8:15, an hour and a half after I had ordered, my pizza arrived - cold. So apparently my pizza had been sitting around for a while. So much for the thin crispy crust, it had gone soggy. To boot I've got nowhere to set a pizza box because my kitchen and table are all setup for a party. And I get to shove some soggy cold pizza down so I can greet my guests. Sac's pizza is considerably more expensive than other places in Astoria. I expect had it arrived hot, it would have been tasty. But for my money, next time I'll use one of the cheaper places that can actually deliver a hot pie inside of 45 minutes.

We had been loyal Sac's customers since we moved to the area a few years ago, but over the last few months their customer service and food have both taken a sharp nose dive. I ordered from them earlier this summer, waited over an hour for the delivery, and then received a cold pizza, no beverages and wrong toppings. The woman on the phone was very rude and argumentative about the whole situation when she didn't have to be and refused to refund us—Seamless kindly stepped in. At that point, I wrote to the owner who sent back a note saying that customers came first and offered us our next pizza on the house. He then never replied to my e-mail back to him and we were never able to cash in on that free pizza. Sadly, their pizza is good when it's correct and not congealed and cold, but that's how it's been the last few times. Against better judgment, I ordered from them tonight and, over an hour later, had not received my food. I called them and the guy who answered the phone said he had no record of my order, even though he called me 30 minutes earlier to say they were switching out my beverage. When I balked at this, I was told they were "really busy." I'm sorry, but when I've been waiting almost 90 minutes for food, I don't really care about your other customers. I want the food I ordered and paid for within the stated delivery time frame. I asked to speak to a manager who hung up on me when I told him that this was the last time we'd be ordering from them. Because that's how you make sure the customer comes first.

I would love to give this place a good rating cause their pizza is pretty good, HOWEVER, I can NOT get past the terrible customer service I just experienced. I placed my order on Seamless at 6:39pm and my doorbell finally just rang at 7:58pm. I called at 7:40 to find out if my order went out to get an extremely unhelpful girl answer the phone, give me ZERO information because "she didnt take the order, it just comes through the fax" and even accused me of exaggerating how long its been since I placed my order by saying "well if it's ACTUALLY been an hour since you placed the order, you should get it any minute". Yeah, you really don't want to mess with a pregnant chicks dinner. I live up the block and my pizza is lukewarm. Nonsense.

Awful service. I placed an order close to the end of their operational hours and they completely ignored it. Seamless had to call me and refund my money. I don't understand why they have such a high rating on seamless. The first time I ordered from this place the pizza did come, but it was cold and mushy. A combination of poorly prepared food and bad service make this restaurant one to stay away from. Sac's, you won't be getting any further business from me.

This is a nice place in decor and menu, but I am not just feeling it after a couple orders. Their pizza is great - not NY style but is very tasty. But they market themselves with some fairly nice menu items and pricy ingredients as a restaurant too. Yet the two pasta dishes I got there on two different occasions were mediocre at best. They weren't horrid, but weren't all that great – with emphasis on especially for the price! Plus, I did pickup here and the counter staff is fairly nasty or at the very least aloof. Thing is, you can go down the street a few blocks and get the same dish for $5 bucks less, not get a dirty look when picking up, and it'll be better tasting too. I will still continue to try as I'm not totally disillusioned yet, especially for some of their dishes that aren't at other places, but it seems like all they are is a good pizzeria. (they definitely do have good pizza)

a friend and I have devoured a good number of Sac's Coal Oven Pizzas...man, them's good eatin'. as are their insalate di casa. and their delivery guy is just the best there is. tip him well - he's worth it! (and no, I'm not Sac's delivery guy. ;) buon appetito! (I hope that's right.)

We've ordered from Sac's 5-6 times. Their pizza is our favorite pizza delivery option now. Although they once forgot one item from our order and had to come back again with it, they are usually pretty fast and have made no other mistakes.
