I have been using seamless at work and at home for over five years and never felt the need to write a review. Testaccio's customer service was so unprofessional that they inspired me. We ordered two tagliatelle bolognese dinners, one of which was supposed to be gluten free, but received two unlabeled spaghetti dishes instead. Upon calling the restaurant, they hung up on us the first time. The second time, the manager said that it was our fault for using Seamless web and not calling them directly to figure out exactly which pastas they would serve gluten free. (Nevermind that the pasta was available gluten free online.) The manager finally agreed to comp the meal but then must have changed his mind because we only received the money back for one meal even though both meals were wrong. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

Took almost 2 hours to get my food and then they *lied*, saying they never received my order. The Seamless customer service rep I finally contacted had to call them. She also confirmed with me that they had received the order as soon as I placed it. To add insult to injury the pizza was truly gross...and I was hungry by this point! It reminded me of pizza you get at the airport.

The awful weather made me want to find some solace in comfort food. I started off with the Assaggini di Suppli. I tend to think that fried foods shouldn’t be delivered, but these croquettes arrived as if I were eating at the restaurant. I really liked the variety. The croquettes were light and perfect in size. They’re delicately fried, slightly sweet and overall, a nice way to start my meal. The Bucatini all Amatriciana was DELICIOUS! My desire for a taste of bacon-like pork jowl was sated by the shards of crispy pig, better than any bacon I’ve had, mingling with the thick strands of hollow, al dente bucatini and sharp cheese-laced tomato sauce. The Bucatini all Amatriciana will be ordered every time I eat at Testaccio Ristorante. The Coda all Vaccinara was juicy and tender. The oxtails were slow cooked to absolute perfection. The tomato sauce, caramelized baby onions and mushrooms they were plated with, added an addictive plate-licking heartiness to the dish. Long Island City has been waiting for a restaurant like Testaccio. In the world of the restaurant-obsessed, Testaccio will definitely be Long Island City’s obsession.
